Konami has just released the first proper gameplay trailer for Bloober’s upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2. Silent Hill 2 Remake will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and this trailer shows off its amazing graphics. It will also give you a glimpse at the game’s combat mechanics.
Silent Hill 2 Remake will be using Unreal Engine 5. Its initial trailer also showcased some truly amazing visuals. Thus, it will be interesting to see whether Bloober Team will be able to match them. Back in October, the team also shared the initial PC system requirements for it. According to them, an NVIDIA RTX2080 would be able to run it at 1080p/High/30fps. Now we all know how demanding Unreal Engine 5 can be. So, it will be interesting to see whether Bloober Team will revise those PC requirements.
In June 2023, the voice actor of the main protagonist claimed that Silent Hill 2 Remake was planned for an early 2024 release. However, Konami did not reveal any release date in the following trailer. So, chances are we may wait until 2025.

Yeah that’s a bugged video there. The other one is just a link for age verification. I need to check if there’s any more mods for the DC version, mostly qol would be nice like camera and controls the rest is pretty atmospheric as it was back then. I did do a rerun of 2/3 years ago might be nice to see what’s out there as far as mods now. Konami is a disaster of a studio sadly no confidence in anything they do anymore.

Bloober really just copy paste RE2r . RE3r and RE4r and tries to coat it with Silent Hill. This game is gonna be the hardest bomb for bloober and konami, the expectation is so high for this one. It’ll be the most rememerable on how “not to’ remake a game and especially all-time classic like the Silent Hill franchise. I tend to think its almost impossible to remake since the over-the-shoulder is the only thing people seem to care about, there’s legit nothing wrong with a fixed camera, it might scream ‘classic’ for most but you can add so much more ambient and creepyness to a game and a game like silent hill needs that, it needs to use its horror ambient in every corner to put you on edge, with an over-the-shoulder perspective it cancels it out.
