MAWI United has released an amazing next-gen tech demo for Unreal Engine 5.2 that you can download right now. According to the team, this demo features over 140 custom scanned trees and plants. All assets are highres Nanite meshes with 8K textures (though the demo has limited this to 4K).
The demo also features dynamic player interaction with plants and a custom wind system. The rainforest also has different sub biomes like deep jungle, meadow areas, mangrove swamps and rocky slopes. Thus, you’ll encounter a nice variety of environments.
The Tropical Rainforest Demo offers two variations. The first one is in day time and the other is during a thunderstorm with heavy rain, lightning and water running down the trees and leaves.
You can download the demo from here. Those interested can also download MAWI United’s previous UE5 demos from here, here, here, and here.
Lastly, you can find below some videos that showcase its different sub biomes.
Have fun!

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 confirmed on PC, that’s big news but let’s talk about that random UE5 demo and a useless patch for The Division 2
October for a simple re-release? how is this exciting?
I know MGS3 never got a PC release but pcsx2?
This contains an officiel port for a legendary PS2 game that never made it to PC, maybe it’s not that exciting but it’s more worthy of an article than a another random UE5 demo and a patch for a game everyone forgot
Official ports tend to be a complete rip off nowadays.
If you can aim with mouse then I’ll be really excited.
doesn’t look like any special or even any sort of touch ups. better off just emulating the games
Just as i said to dagoat, it still worth an article, more than this poor forest that will never make it to a real playable game
He did the same thing with Trepang2. Not a word on that game, but all this foolishness.
We’ve stopped publishing articles like “This X game is out now on PC”. When developers announce a release date, we do post an article about it. Case in point -> https://www.dsogaming.com/news/fear-inspired-fps-trepang2-will-release-on-june-21st/
And, we talked about Trepang2 before anyone else. If you think we haven’t talked enough about Trepang2, you really need to start paying more attention to our articles 😛
Lol John doesn’t give a sh*t about indie games… Unless it’s running on UE5 of course HAHA
Oh I see, Trepang is running UE but not UE5 probably… It just doesn’t make sense that he said he talked about it in the past but on it’s release, when it’s doing very well, he talks about Assassin’s Creed Unity cloth & wind mod ????? Why is that even news man.
At least it’s a relatively useful mod, i just don’t get this love story with UE5
This makes me want to play the MGS3 remake. I pray it looks this good. An envorment with that much detail and day and night cycles would be amazing!
Enough of the endless demo’s.
Give me the actual games!
Couldn’t have said it better, yet every time someone uses UE it’s either too late or too woke and ppl start hating on it. Why can’t they deliver for once?

Uff, last ue5 biome demo I tried glitched and I couldnt even get 60fps at lowest….
Horrific motion blur as usual
This is how I’ve always imagined the Just Cause games to look.
No player would ever slow walk through the jungle in a JC game. So all the detail would be wasted.
Speak for yourself, I walk through and reverse these types of games. Besides, slow walking isn’t the only way to appreciate such detail. The fact that it’s always there is what makes it memorable. Trust me man, I remember places from Just Cause 2. To me, it was the last great game in the franchise. The rest is crap. It’s not wasted, because if that’s the case why bother make environments. Just give us a character in a white room with some boxes and sell it. Ambiance my friend, ambiance.
I did appreciate the chorus of birdsongs though.
Another reason epic made the engine free. Screw you on asset prices.
Finally, we’ve never been this close to get a proper Predator game, which will be only based on the first movie, hopefully.
Although, the second movie was good too. I don’t want to hear about the sequels.
First video, 2:36, what’s going on with the giant pixels in the shadows?
gross
