The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom feature

Here’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom running on PC via the Ryujinx Nintendo Switch Emulator

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been leaked online and, surprisingly enough, it can already be played on PC via Nintendo Switch emulators.

From the looks of it, the only Nintendo Switch emulator that can currently run this new Zelda game is Ryujinx. I couldn’t find any video for yuzu or CEMU. However, and since the ROM for Tears of the Kingdom is out in the wild, we expect these emulators to be able to run the game really soon.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom officially releases on May 12th. So, PC gamers can already play it one week prior to its official release.

Since we don’t condone piracy, we won’t allow any direct links to the ROM. Do note that we may also ban you if you keep sharing links to the ROM.

From the looks of it, an Intel i5 11600K with an NVIDIA RTX3090 can run the game’s starting area with 30fps. However, once you get to the skies, there are major stutters. So yeah, don’t expect a smooth gaming experience.

Still, the fact that a Nintendo Switch emulator can already run this new, unreleased, triple-A game is monumental. And the good news is that things will only get better from here.

Enjoy!

  1. You’re not finding any videos of it running on CEMU because that’s a Wii U emulator.

        1. Looks like it works very good with DuckStation 4K/120fps, damn it runs like a dream.

      1. CEMU does run Breath of the Wild, correct. But specifically the Wii U version of the game that released alongside the Switch port. Running the Switch version on CEMU isn’t gonna happen

      2. Definitely is definitely is not spelt that way, in the same way that cemu is definitely not a Switch emulator.

  2. You’re not finding any videos of it running on CEMU because that’s a Wii U emulator.

  3. As a hardcore longtime Zelda fan I would buy a wii u for this release alone and just sell it off afterwards.

  4. “I couldn’t find any video for yuzu or CEMU”

Because it wasn’t released for Wii U, Switch only.

        1. Yep. Sad. I have to on many occasions just not participate in these comments because of how vile they become. I’m sure there are tons of others as well who never participate here because of it.

          1. You have the freedom to not engage with the comments you don’t like.

            Wuss feature also exists.

          2. grow thicker skin little one, the world isn’t meant for soft skinned cowards.

    1. Boo-hoo, lefty. There are plenty of places on the internet for you to be a massive bundle of sticks on like reddit or resetera, so you can go run off to one of those and not come back here.

  5. So sad Nintendo never embraced all the money people would give them for some pc ports.
These guys would tank another nuke before porting their games to PC.
Beware though that 25% of their company is ninjas, 75% is lawyers and 0.01% are game developers.

    1. Nintendo is ran by old a$s Japanese executives that think pc’s are only used for making jerk off games.

    1. Not sure what the funny part is. I downloaded the game myself but haven’t been spoiled by anything.

  6. This is how I plan on playing the game once the emulation improves a bit with better FPS. I’ll pay Nintendo in the eShop or whatever they call it (I too don’t condone piracy) but use this method to get a better experience than what the crummy Switch hardware can provide.

      1. Like I said, I don’t condone piracy. If I’m going to partake in somebody else’s work, I’m going to pay for it. Just because it’s easy and anonymous to just steal this stuff online doesn’t make it right. It’s no different from walking into a Best Buy, shoving a physical copy down your pants, and walking out the door.

          1. Sounds like it should be the other way around with how much people perform mental gymnastics to coax themselves into believing stealing is OK. Such as you right now belittling my perfectly reasonable thought process in an attempt to self validate your own sh**ty thought process of “stealing is fine as long as it’s digital and nobody can point a finger at me.” Murder is still murder even if you kill someone in the middle of an unpopulated desert. Stealing is still stealing even if you do it anonymously online. Simple as that.

          2. Let me give you a refresher for what we all should have learned in Pre K/Kindergarten. When you take a PRODUCT that is SOLD but you do not PAY FOR IT that’s called STEEAAAALLING. AKA THEFT. And yes, a video game, even in “virtual” form that you can easily download, is still a product. It’s not rocket science.

          3. Yep, that’s why I downloaded it, ran it to see how it ran on my system, and then purchased the game. I have a job and a house and can afford games, so I paid for it. It’d be better if Nintendo just brough games to PCs direct though.

          4. I’m waiting for Yuzu or Ryujinx to announce “officially” that it’s compatible before downloading it. But yes it would certainly be nice if Nintendo did native PC ports. Unfortunately, I feel the day we start seeing Nintendo PC ports is the day we see the bigots vacate DSOG comments. So never lol

          5. Wow. You really are delusional. You’re comparing borrowing somebody’s car to stealing software. How many times were you dropped on your head as a baby to NOT see how insane that sounds? No, pirating a game, playing through it, and never paying for it is not like borrowing somebody’s car. It’s like sneaking onto a dealer lot in the middle of the night and helping yourself to whichever vehicle suits your fancy.

          6. WTF? Apparently, it’s the same. Since you consider it ethical to borrow someone else’s car, it is also ethical to borrow someone’s digital copy. Also, let me ask you, have you ever seen a movie at a friend’s house? If you’ve seen it, you have consumed the content without paying for your own copy. From this alone, you can understand the absurdity of what you said earlier. Also, keep crying and reporting my posts, it just proves that you are pitiful.

          7. The delusions continue. Nintendo is not your friend. They’re a company. A business. Their product is video games. And their business is selling games. Not “lending” them to jack offs like yourself. You’re not “borrowing” anything. You’re indulging fully in their product while providing them zero compensation. That is, once again, stealing. And no matter how many ridiculous circumstances you try to come up with, it won’t reverse the fact that it’s theft.

          8. Stop sh1tposting. Because you believed what some greedy companies told you, you use other people’s possessions (movies, cars etc) while you claim “NONONO tHiS Is sHocKinG iTs RoBbeRy” about pirated games.

    1. I’ll probably buy it on Switch and play it there for the first time, because it might take years until it can run on PC with decent performance. Eventually I hope I can play it on my PC at 1080/60fps.

      1. Switch emulation seems to have gotten quite good. Likely due to the Nvidia chipset found in the Switch. Metroid Prime was being emulated at 4K60 within a couple weeks of release. By then I was already like halfway through the game on Switch so I didn’t bother but they were very quick with it.

  7. If you do not know the CEMU is a wiiu emulator, you really should not be writing any articles.

  8. Only Ryujinx runs it and it will run at 4k Yuzu wont run it at at all and you

have to run it in open Gl and make sure in the system tab disable Vsync or it will limit to 20Fps

  9. This is bad, real bad. Nintendo is going to effing flip and Denuvo emultaion DRM is gonna come real soon.

    1. It’s not gonna happen because, switch can not handle drm it will make performance worse also do not forgot some people is also playing on hack switch hardware and streaming on twitch

  10. Waiting for a patch to play at 100 fps (or for Nintendo to bring it to PC officially). Then I’ll buy it (and play Ryujinx). 30 fps is painful.

  11. Waiting for a patch to play at 100 fps (or for Nintendo to bring it to PC officially). Then I’ll buy it (and play Ryujinx). 30 fps is painful.

    1. my buddies got a strong cpu, and he’s only gett between 45 to 58 fps so far with a 60 fps mod.

      1. I have a 13600K @ 5.4 GHz with RAM at 4200 MHz 17-17-17, and an RTX 3080. It is running (fairly) steady at 60fps in the overworld at 4K resolution (60 fps patch). I also have a shader pack that is helping with stutters. Running OpenGL mode. It is playable enough that I caved and bought it (pre-ordered, I guess?) and am playing it on the emulator. Too bad the underground sections I’ll hit in a few hours will have transparent textures, but hopefully emulator updates will fix that soon. The shrines are also only 30fps (or run double speed with the 60fps patch), which is also a shame, but I remember BoTW being like that too for the shrines. I am setting up a hot key in Afterburner/Riva to toggle a 30 fps/60fps cap to make that issue less jarring.

  12. Runs on Ryujinx disable vsync and use open gl not vulkan or you are locked at 20 fps it is a 30 fps game but suffers with bad frame pacing use Msi fterburner to lock fps to 24 and the frame pacing issues are gone.
You can also add resade and it runs at 4k with Rtx global Illumination.

  13. PC master race playing a Nintendo exclusive game first, epic. Just sell that thing on Steam, all PS and XBOX games end on PC soon or later, why not Nintendo.

  14. If Shitendo was smart they would release they games on PC/other platforms after 1-3 months and earn even bigger pile of money.
Those Japanese corpos are so outdated in every way that’s beyond imagination.

  15. Fantastic and and soon even a potato pc can run this at 4K. Best f*ck you Nintendo ever ?

Even better is that the game is allready out. Suck on that Nintendo POS gready anticonsumer f*ks!

      1. What do you Expect, the damn game just got leaked. Wait a few months, if not sooner, and im sure it can!

        1. I did try to play some switch game on my potato pc, it takes of ram and gpu only Cemu can run my potato pc but it has frame rate dropped because shadder complications all that time

          1. Of course, one cant get all for free right!
But Most potato pc can run it, and I cant think of any, that still have 8GB ram or so. If you cant even browse the damn web ev n ?

          2. I saw 8GB ram with Nvidia 940mx run Zelda TOTK in 2fps , 2fps , do you really think that frame rate is enough to play entire game? Maybe you need to go back to own school and learn how’s emulation works on computer, maybe you didn’t tried on your potato pc where you don’t even know how to use emulate games on your pc

          3. GTFO..If YOU have a CPU thats 20 year old, what the hell do you expect. Then your even Dumber, then you sounds!

Nothing is free as I said R**ard. A potato pc CPU can run Yuzu, but not an ancient of course. How dumb can you be really ?

  16. They cannot do anything to you because you posted a link to something that you DID NOT UPLOAD. The law states that it is forbidden to DISTRIBUTE the file, but posting links is legal.
