Bandai Namco has announced that FromSoftware’s new Armored Core game, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, will release on August 25th. In addition, the publisher shared the game’s first gameplay trailer which you can find below.
In Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, players will assemble and pilot their own mech with 3D maneuverability to move freely through three dimensional fast-paced missions. Players will take on difficult challenges and overwhelm their enemies with dynamic movements that make full use of ranged and melee combat. Moreover, players can enjoy a variety of actions that can only be truly realized with mechs.

First?, another Game of the year 2023 Nomination
Can’t believe Japanese devs have better PC ports than Western devs now. I’m so proud how much they’ve grown.
i hope this was sarcasm

Forspoken
Wild Hearts
Like A Dragon: Ishin
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
All trash.
Japanese developers consistently have the absolute worst PC ports. Most people in Japan have never touched a PC.
The only japanese developers that do good pc ports are Capcom and Atlus. Sega sometimes but it’s a hit or miss.
I’m curious about why are you proud of something that probably has nothing to do with you.
this could be good, keeping my eye on it!
I’m sure it’s a cool game if you’re a 10-year-old playing around with mecha robots.
Well…

So, with 10yo you were discussing politics? Cause MG is all about politics, dude. Unless, ofc, you never actually played it.
Western game are usually more silly and need us to suspend our disbelief in order to accept it(Nathan Drake and Lara Croft killing spree for example). Japanese devs at least admit their silliness and get along with it without taking any of it seriously because its just a frickin’ game and the most important is gameplay, story can take second place (or first place if its just walking simulator)
No 10 yrs old without some autistic trait would hang on to this game for long, parts and customisation are integral parts of AC since its first inception in PS1 and there are abundance of them to tinker
The playable character in Japanese games is always short/small.
if you looking at mr masahiro Sakurai channel its actually prominent design philosophy for japanese gaming devs to evoke sympathy and underdog feeling for player
They should have released a “Borne out of Blood” Bloodborne spiritual succesor, just like Dark Souls was to Demons Souls. Armored Core? That game was always niche and none of the gamers that got to know From Software post Demons Souls are aware of the franchise.
They should release whatever they want to release.
they havent been making anything but dark souls clones for a decade.
Demon Souls was also niche genius.
So is Bloodborne
This is also probably the best time From Software have to reintroduce Armored Core. Their popularity is at an all time high, to the point I assume anything they put out will sell a sell at least 2 million units in a month out of brand association.
Elden Ring proved many people will buy a game from them, even if they don’t like it, just because it’s the popular thing that everyone is buying.
Armored Core are well known IP but From Software as their developers are usually rarely known just like in Tenchu franchise and other well made From Soft games.
Boombastic
repetitive robo shooter. even the trailer was boring af. very low effort
Agreed! Shame I like these stuff (mechs, not repetitiveness).
Hopefully this will mean more mecha games in the future if this gets enough popularity.

There is mechwarrior V released in the recent years
After being blown away by Elden Ring… this looks pretty lame. Empty bare basic non-detailed levels… sliding mech… shoot, jump…. MEH!
Elden Ring is the worst Souls games made by From.
The amount of repetition if mind-boggling.
There is a list of how many times you fight the same mini bosses [the ones on the map and how many times you fight the same end of dungeon bosses, some repeat as many as 8 times.
Outside of the Big/Main Dungeons [the main game], the open world is just copy paste repetition.
OW was a huge mistake.
I rather play the Main dungeons and no open world crap.
They basically looked at Bloodborne’s end-game dungeons and went ‘hmmm, yup, we need to use that repetitive crap again.’
This is the list, with all the times you deal with same Bosses.
Global repetition score is almost 4, ie on average you fight same bosses 4 times

“They hated him because he told them the truth”
People dont like hearing the truth.
Elden Ring was made for the same crowd that plays highly repetitive online “survivor” games and running the same dungeons in MMOs for YEARS.
I hate repetition, for me its game killer, i want always to get something fresh, new areas, new monsters, thats why i love original DS trilogy+DeS.
You always push forward, you can come back to open some secret but otherwise you go forward, each level has new looking monsters, new buildings, new sounds.
Here is a good video on the subject, its 1.44H, but it describes in detail why Elden Ring is a bad Souls game.

Looks like every generic Asian game with blinding amount of effects on screen.
Awesome, innit?
Good ol’ mech fights, nothing beats that. It looks very promising!
