Counter Strike Condition Zero feature

NVIDIA’s latest drivers hint at Counter-Strike 2 or Counter-Strike Source 2

It appears that NVIDIA’s latest drivers may have leaked a new Counter-Strike game. According to new profiles, there is a new Counter-Strike game in development, called Counter-Strike 2.

My guess is that this is most likely the rumored remaster of CS in Source 2 Engine. After all, it can’t be a sequel to CS as we’d have heard at least something about such a huge project. However, you should temper your expectations. Do not expect this to be a full remake of this classic game.

My guess is that if this is Counter-Strike Source 2, it will only feature QoL improvements (as well as some performance improvements due to Source2 Engine). And yes, I don’t expect higher-quality textures or any Ray Tracing effects.

What’s really interesting here is that these two executables (and the game profile) are brand new. This profile was not present in older versions of the NVIDIA drivers. So yeah, this does appear to be a legit leak.

It will be interesting to see what this “Counter-Strike 2” game is all about. For what it’s worth, NVIDIA and Valve have not commented on this as of yet.

Stay tuned!

  1. I’m too busy laughing at the news that Forspoken dev, Luminous Productions, is being closed down and folded back into Squeenix.

    1. Most hilarious thing, they can’t blame pirates lol , where usually game devs blame piracy for their failure so, if you are using DRM , you. can’t blame pirates for commercial failure
Now, square enix should sell IP for Forspoken to western company to invest NFT market

  2. I’m often to blogging and i really appreciate your content. The article has actually peaks my interest. I’m going to bookmark your web site and maintain checking for brand spanking new information.

  3. Wait… Recalling main versions…:
    1) Counter Strike 1.X
    2) CS Source
    3) CS:GO
    4?) “Ah yes, let’s call it CS2!”

Still, wait a minute, nothing adds up:

Why would it be a port/remaster? If it was, it would be completely pointless like HLSource at the time, i guess these days the don’t need to do that weird “tech demo/port” thing again…

Why would it be a new installment? It would also split the CS user base which they wouldn’t want nor even need… CSGO runs on anything, has massive numbers, successful MT monetization model, and it’s userbase is not one to complain about graphics…

Why not a HL Alyx engine update? Because they want it in a FPS version and more users? But then it is in a CS2 thing?

I’m curious to see what it’s about in the end and how it looks and runs!

    1. It’s not CS2, it’s CSGOS2, which probably loses the suffix after the final release and replaces the OG CSGO. New engine expands the lifespan of the game. Easier to develop future content, easier to mod and create new maps with more details and newer tech. Same thing happened with Dota 2 reborn

  4. So should I be selling all my rare CSGO stuff before the value drops to 0? Or will skins and crates carry over? that is the real info I need!

    1. of course they will carry over CSGO and the market attached is Valve’s golden goose.

If you actually think CSGO 2 is coming, over even source 2 for that matter, your dreaming.
