YouTube’s ‘Benchmark Lab’ has shared a video, showcasing Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Fortnite and more running in 8K with DLSS 2 Quality on the NVIDIA RTX 4090.
The full list of games that Benchmark Lab showcased in 8K is the following:
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Watch Dogs Legion
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- GhostWire Tokyo
- Fortnite
- Microsoft Flight Simulator
In order to get playable framerates at 8K, Benchmark Lab used DLSS 2 Quality Mode. And, as you will see, most of the aforementioned games are actually playable. Although they are not hitting constant 60fps, they are at least above 30-40fps.
As we’ve already reported, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 is a rasterized and ray-traced beast. You can find our 4K benchmarks here. Make also sure to check out our DLSS 3 article.
Lastly, YouTube is flooded with lots of fake RTX 4090 videos. Someone has even uploaded a fake RTX 4070 benchmarks video. So yeah, be extra careful with those clickbaity videos. Benchmark Lab, on the other hand, is a reputable source which is why we’re sharing their results.
Enjoy!

Lol Why would they use quality? It’s going to be played on a 4k screen anyways and even if you use performance mode I think it’s taking a native 4k image. Plus DLDSR looks better than native 8k anyways so you should use that.
This is very likely a fake channel. He doesn’t have a 4090 and that’s a fake overlay
That DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 Nvidia put on their most expensive card didnt support 8K well afaik.
8k and $800-$2000 GPU is the reason AMD and Nvidia stock are cratering. No one can afford this.
This is pointless. 8k needs like a =>60 inch screen.
I have a 125″ 4k projector (true 4k), and you can barely tell the difference between 1080p and 4k blu-rays in most cases while sitting 10 feet away.
I have a 65 inch LG CX, and the difference between a classic blu-ray and an ultra hd one is night and day… Of course it depends on the films, but on the old ones shot in 35mm there is a big difference in definition. (not to mention the contribution of the HDR/Dolby Vision).
Projectors are sh*t, the resolution difference is painfully obvious on any higher end TV and especially on OLEDs.
I look forwarding to seeing nothing but X runs at 8k DLSS RTX beyond all limits 4090 Ti max videos for the next 2 years
