Yesterday, NVIDIA showcased an incredible racing game, called Racer RTX, that used real-time Ray Tracing, DLSS 3, and PhysX. And today, we are happy to report that this playable tech demo will be available for download this November.
Racer RTX is an interactive physics-accurate simulation featuring the most realistically rendered RC cars ever. And, according to the green team, it will be only compatible with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs.
This is easily one of the best Ray Tracing tech demos we’ve seen, and below you can find its announcement video. It will also be interesting to see how it runs with and without DLSS 3 on NVIDIA’s upcoming high-end RTX 4090 GPU.
Enjoy!

It’s so cool that the community is still updating RVGL.
Just wow …man this is so cool!
Heres hoping it atleast will be playable on say the 4070 – im shooting for!
So happy I dident jumped on the X3 series as my 2060S, served me well and all the time I said; just hold on to the X4 serie!
Once again best in Class nVidia will blow us all away. Cant wait for DLSS 3 and all super nice tech that will come!
They rebranded the 4070 to the 4080 12 gig edition. It’ll cost you at minimum $900 US.
LOL..Yeah what a stunt there..from the get go 120 different GPU’s, but thats comon these days it seems!
And the 4070 probably will roll out in 23 I guess. but hey, I will never pay these prices. It’s as we all know insane – in an Insane World – so better hold out and go for something like the 4070 or 4060. Im sure it will be enough and a good upgrade from my ole 2060S!
The 4070 will be as a worthwhile upgrade from 3070 like the 3060 was from the 2060S, mark my words.
Well let hope for the better shall we. The 4060 tho, romours says will be pretty much crap! Atleast we will get DLSS3 on the new gen, and that it’s a killer for sure. Im sure AMD will get totaly crushed when it comes to RT perf sadly. But I hope AMD will blow us away, but I wont hold my breath!
RDNA3 will wipe the floor with Lovelace dude.
4090 has 144 SMs, RDNA3 top chip will have 192.
6900/6950 XT were already on equal footing to 3090 / 3090 Ti in rasterizarion.
The flagship RDNA3 card will be 33% faster, lol. Not even an RT deficit will make their card slower.
Dream on buddy!
When have ever POS AMD done that ?
9700 Pro
9800 Pro
ATI X1800 XT
X1900 XT and variants
HD 5870
R9 290 and 290X
More recently, RDNA2 was on par or faster with Turing / Ampere in pure rasterizarion, only coming short some times (most times) in RT workloads.
Yeah remember having when it was ATI back in the day – 970 something, and man that was an awesome card!
Cant wait to see AMD’s second RT thats coming!
As we know nVidia will be on the third iteration. Really hope AMD will put up a good fight with RDNA 3. And that they can manage to keep the prices more grounded. As it is now pc gaming the high end, will be for the rich f*kers sadly ?
Given top RDNA3 chip has close to 33% more CUs than 4090, most think are in for a rude awakening.
It’s going to be a monster in rasterizarion, faster than 3090 Ti in RT and very close to 4090.
Lets hope buddy. We surely needs competition!
Not that I ever goes high end. Have the 2060S, as I said and before that the gtx 970, so I skiped the 10 series same as with the 3X series!
Now I just want a good high midend, as I mostly goes for – most bang for the buck, so to speak!
Sounds like either 7700 XT or 7600 XT is for you.
Naah nVidia is my game. As I love all features / tech and the perfectly working drivers. But hey o e should never say never. If AMD will have comparable perf and are much cheaper – fornthe high mid end, I actually might try em out atleast ?
Based on percentage of core count on the 4080 12 GB to 4090, the 4080 12 GB is more of a 4060 really.
The 4070 will barely be faster than the 3070. Probably 3070 Ti, tops.
I’ve taken another look at the specs, and I think you might be right, especially since the card is only 192 bit. How greedy can one man get?
I just hope all of us with 3X series can enjoy the DLSS3 also, this is a big fack you to us if it doesn’t
Apparently due to the way DLSS3 works it may actually not be very beneficial on the 2000 and 3000 series cards. I think DLSS2 will be available for titles that have DLSS3 support so users of older cards can still use the older version as a fallback.
It’s a damn shame and this time after trying to defend in some cases Nvidia, they really fack us knowing well how many are running the 3X series.
User of “older” cards? As someone who has a 3090 in one of his rigs, this is a slap in the face. All of the sudden their top of the line, most advanced Ampere architecture is old and outdated now because it can’t run their own in house developed piece of tech, even mobile phones have longer OS support than this. So done with that creepy black leather jacket greedy sack of a man, my next high end purchase is going to AMD, can’t wait to see what they bring to the table with RDNA 3. I don’t care if they cannot match numbers with RTX 4090, if they come close to that with good value and if they can once again show big L to green goblin with another FSR release then I am sold.
The new frame interpolation feature kind of depends on the beefier hardware in ADA Lovelace. The Optical Flow Accelerator is bigger and supposedly better. Maybe they’ll make it work on 30 series later, but who knows, it might be inconsistent or sh*t.
IMO it’s hard to complain about it because there is nothing out there like this. Would you rather they didn’t develop that new feature at all and just ship an iterative DLSS 3 ? Think about it. If the latency is acceptable (we’ll see), this could be twice as good as FSR or other similar techniques. But then again we’ll have to see. I think someone will make it work on 30 series cards, maybe Nvidia themselves. Then we can compare the performance and know for sure.
The price on the other hand, and the 4080 12GB aka 4070…
What I don’t particularly like here is that Nvidia is playing a nasty trick with consumers. The 12GB 4080 isn’t simply a “regular” 4080 with just less VRAM, it also has less shaders and lower memory bus, they should not have named it a 4080 as technically it is a different product. They should have called it a 4080 LE or something like that.
Around 20 years it was even worse, because you could buy high end PC, and it was already too old one year later.
Since you have a 3090 I think you’ll be quite alright, especially since DLSS2 very likely isn’t going anywhere. It’s not quite like going from the 1000 series to the 2000 series where the new generation introduced both dedicated ray tracing hardware and support for DLSS via tensor cores. And from the potential issues DLSS3 looks to have due to how it works (i.e. the fake frame interpolation crap) I think DLSS2 may actually be superior in terms of image quality even if it’s not as performant.
With all that said, if you really are adamant on upgrading to RDNA3 I agree with your decision to switch to team red 100%. I too will likely go down the same path sometime in the future (currently using a 3060ti).
3090 Ti to 4090 is a ~70% increase in core count.
6900 XT (5120 cores) to top RDNA3 chip is over 100% increase in core counts (12200 something).
I’m feeling pretty good about RDNA3 relative performance to Lovelace.

Ca ne me fait clairement pas bander
Raytracing is a joke.
Consoles can’t do it without dropping to 2 fps and the average PC gamer has a 1060 or 1050Ti according to steam that doesn’t support it.
So Nvidia has to release this crap so those people buying $1000 GPU actually have something to use them on.
Intel released a GPU with raytracing support back in 2009, and no developer cared back then either. Nvidia has to buy out developers so they put some silly relfective puddles in their game.
I’m sure Nvidia tried really hard to get this working on 3000 series card, whatever, I’m still going to buy one, $900 is probably the absoulte most id pay, even though i have a 3070ti, id just sell it and pay the difference. I just hope they will have enough stock, I will buy it with cash if i have to. but I aint paying more than $900.

Nice game.
Whilst I do understand that new GPU’s have the latest technologies and features that older GPU’s are usually not compatible with (take the launch of the RTX2000 series for instance), you shouldn’t slap your previous customers in the face by all of this marketing jargon for the new cards. That being said, there is AMD’s FSR and Intel’s XeSS which are also being continuously worked and improved upon. I believe these technologies will rival DLSS in the upcoming future, so Nvidia’s DLSS exclusivity trick may not quite work out as they hope. We will have to wait and see.
FSR 2.1.1 is already 95% the image quality of DLSS2.x IMO.
“will be only compatible with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs”
That seems a worrying precedent. Nvidia is essentially telling us that RTX 40 series cards will be obsolete in a couple of years insofar as not being able to run some RT games released when RTX 50 series arrives.
Chill man
Games requiring DX12_2 will continue to run on Turing and Ampere just fine. Same with DLSS2. You just won’t get DLSS3 interpolation, that’s all.
I still can’t find a Racer RTX download URL, apparently that’s because – according to this post on Reddit – it’s been delayed till next year in order to turn it into a full game
after 7 months no news, now forgotten, not even a downloadable demo, go f*k you
Where’s is the DEMO or the GAME???
Has everyone forgotten about this?
