Elden Ring brand new screenshots-1

Elden Ring gets an unofficial Photo Mode that also removes Chromatic Aberration

Modder Otis_Inf has just released an unofficial Photo Mode for FromSoftware’s latest action RPG, Elden Ring. As its title implies, this mod will add a Photomode to Elden Ring, allowing you to capture some truly amazing screenshots.

Now what’s really great about this mod is that it can also remove Chromatic Aberration. I’m pretty sure that other similar mods will pop up. However, and since this is the first one, we highly recommend using it.

Additionally, this Photo Mode offers free unlimited camera movement and rotation, allows you to pause the game, and enables higher LODs. Furthermore, it allows you to control the sun light direction, and can remove pillarbox/letterbox in custom aspect ratios.

Now as with all mods, we suggest using this unofficial Photomode in offline mode. Otherwise, the game’s anti-cheat system may ban you. So yeah, keep that in mind.

You can download this mod from here.

Speaking of Elden Ring mods, we also suggest downloading the following ones. Flawless Ultrawide enables support for ultra-wide resolutions/monitors. And this mod will unlock the game’s framerate.

Have fun!

    1. Then take your own advice and DON’T download the mod. It’s his mod, he can do whatever he wants. You don’t like it, THEN DON’T DOWNLOAD IT!!!

      1. I didn’t. I would never disable important, game-defining features such as Motion Blur and Chromatic Aberration and TAA, essential elements that make a game both look AND play better and should never be disabled.

  1. So will this be a trend for DSOG for the next 6 months? Will we have to sit through a crap to of unofficials where Elden Ring is concerned? Are you gonna report on every single mod? C’mon John, don’t do this. This is not the Dark Side Of Gaming. This is the LSOG, Lasy Side Of Gaming.

    1. It’s his site, he can do whatever he wants. If you really disapprove then stop commenting and stop clicking on the articles.

  2. Chromatic Abberation in all games is awful. Altho I kept it on in Soma. That is literally the single only game I felt like it worked when encountering a monster in the world. Other that that… it’s gawd awful

  3. I can’t believe chromatic aberrations are in some games.

It is LITERALLY a defect, an aberration, it is an anomaly, a photographic defect that no human sees or experiences, but exclusively observed in artificial man-made lenses used for photography.

Man-made lenses with high aberration are considered flawed, and lens designers do everything to minimize this effect, including introducing secondary lens elements to minimize this defect.

It is completely idiotic to start to introduce rendering issues in a game. It’s not like this is a pleasing effect, it is just a defect that looks horrible.

NO ONE WANTS THIS EFFECT. Get it out of games.

    1. It’s another great effect that’s been abused and cursed by awful visual artists… like bloom, lens flares, lens dirt, monochromatic filters…
