First look of the new Nilfgaardian armor from The Witcher Season 2

The second season of Netflix’s The Witcher is still in production. Thanks to the Redanian Intelligence we now have our first look of the new Nilfgaardian armor.

In the photograph we can see Cahir Mawr Dyffryn aep Ceallach wearing the new, much better, looking black armor of the Nilfgaardian armed forces.

The armor of the first season has been criticized for looking, well, stupid. Fans even gave the armor a name, the “scrotum” or ”ballsack” armor. And I tend to agree, especially when the armor featured in the games was excellent.

The new costume designer, Lucinda Wright, has created costumes for many TV shows such as Doctor Who. Tim Aslam, the previous costume designer is no longer attached to the project. No offense to Aslam, but the new armor looks way, way better.

In the same photograph we can also see Fringilla Vigo. The Nilfgaardian sorceress is also wearing a new silver dress, but I’m no expert in dresses. Still, it looks quite nice, even if Fringilla is very different from the books and the games.

The Witcher season two is scheduled to be aired somewhere in the next year. Hopefully, this season will avoid doing the same mistakes as before.

  1. Meh… lots of s*** today is obvious SJW garbage. This is just bad casting, and tbh, with 2ndry characters for the most part. The primary roles seem to all be book faithful. And a lot of Sapkowski’s char descript’s are fairly ambiguous apart from unique traits. I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt for season 2, as there should be A LOT of new heavy roles that will be around a while.

  2. From scr*tum design to generic fantasy design.
The game certainly nailed it to the point that it seems like the only choice.

    1. I think as far as the overall production is concerned, we will be lucky to see 10% of Wild Hunt game material represented on this show. Though I guess you can’t count out Cavil’s influence. He did play the games first. And after the success of season 1, it’s possible he could have more sway.

Btw, that armor reminds me of LOTR’s elf armor. Generic indeed. (Though Cahir won’t be wearing it for long).

    2. I’ll take generic fantasy than balls*ck armor any day. That one is ugly. I don’t get why it was approved. Now if they re-cast triss and other ridiculous characters, that fat black woman sorcerer that i forgot her name and it’s ugly costume it will be good. But that’s not gonna happen i guess.

      1. Ughh… Recasting Triss would be a miracle. There are SO many hot little redheads who could have pulled it off. As you said, they won’t, though. I just hope the current Triss we got in season 1 went thru an extreme makeover in order to appear much younger, more playful, and sexy. Would be so perfect for the Kaer Morhen parts.

The Fringilla Vigo character doesn’t bother me, since hopefully there’s not as much with her this season. Now when they get the Lodge of Sorceresses going, and Francesca Findabair involved, I expect to see a veritable squad of super model types prancing around in extremely low cut dresses.

    1. That explains everything.
Goes to show that the poz needs to be expunged from any creative production, because they will always be seeking to infect everything they touch with their idiotic dogma.
