As you already know AMD plans to showcase its Radeon RX 6000 NAVI GPU lineup on October 28th, based on the new RDNA 2 architecture.
Nvidia recently launched the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Ampere lineup of GPUs, but the launch was plagued with stock availability issues since day one. NVIDIA has also delayed the GeForce RTX 3070 GPU launch by two weeks to October 29th.
Many were hoping to purchase these cards, but the custom RTX 3080 stocks were sold out immediately within few minutes at several retailers across the US, UK and Europe. Some Major e-tailers also experienced extremely high wave of traffic, and this brought their entire website down as well.
Now AMD plans to implement some security measures and guidelines to combat people buying cards using scalper bots, and they also plan to implement the CAPTCHA system. The official AMD partner document issued can be seen in RedGamingTech’s Video as shown below.
AMD expects huge demand for its next-gen RDNA 2 GPUs, and has outlined some measures to partners/retailers to prevent scalper bots from obtaining these cards on launch day.
The same guidelines also apply to the AMD Ryzen 5000-series Zen 3 processors as well, which are releasing on November 5th.
RDNA 2 GPUs are expected to be fabbed on an optimized 7nm process node, and they will support hardware-level ray tracing as well, and are expected to deliver a 50% increase in performance per watt over previous-gen RDNA arch.
Along with an improved performance-per-clock (IPC), and logic enhancement that helps reduce the design complexity and switching power. The GPU clock speeds are also going to get a boost.
Here is hoping that the demand and supply issue isn’t that aggressive as the Ampere launch. It seems this year it has been hard to purchase a new flagship gaming graphics card. So the demand is bound to be very high.
To make matters worse, Nvidia Ampere GeForce RTX 3080 and 3090 GPU shortages will last until 2021, according to CEO Jensen Huang. So gamers might turn to AMD if they cannot wait till next year.

I have a feeling AMD will suffer the same fate as Nviida Ampere launch
They will be sold out the first day for sure, even without scalper bots, but I wonder if they will be easily available around Christmas time.
Really wanna get a Sapphire Nitro model of these cards turn out to be good!

AMD need to look at their partners as well. some of them rather to have guaranteed sale with miner rather that waiting for gamer to pick their card.

My last ATI card was Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition.
If AMD has card that at least on par with 3080, but preferably beats it and it has ray tracing and they fixed video encoder, ill send back my 3090 and get their top end card
Nvidia should be ashamed of themselves releasing a card that has kids outside of Microcenter everyday just to be disappointed. If AMD somehow releases a competitive product I would purchase it. I just don’t see that happening though sadly.

If i didn’t own a G-sync only monitor i would consider it.
Issue is i’m actually kind of worried about the lack of a DLSS competitor as now Nvidia really has some great tech in that i actually call it next gen truly more impressive to me then ray tracing.
How is it G-sync only? As far as I understood Freesync doesn’t require any proprietary hardware unlike G-sync? It could be that the particular monitor you have doesn’t support Freesync at all but I was under the impression that that was rare due to the ease of implementation of it.
I have one of those older G-sync monitors was the first IPS 1440P 144hz monitor
