ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 Ti ROG STRIX may be NVIDIA’s first Ampere graphics card custom design

One alleged photo of a custom graphics card has been leaked by Videocardz. According to this leak, it appears that custom board partners are readying their own custom designs for next-gen Geforce RTX30 series cards.

According to Videocardz, the picture is from an internal meeting discussing new designs for the upcoming ampere-based graphics cards from NVIDIA as reported by ASUS. You can see from the image that it has a definite sleek new style, and is a big departure from the current-gen Turing-based Geforce RTX 2080Ti ROG STRIX, with ASUS using a new black and silver design.

The picture lists the RTX 3080Ti branding and not RTX3090 as some of the previous rumors have been saying over the past few weeks. As for the design of the card, it has an aggressive look that comes with three axial-tech based fans and a massive heatsink underneath the shroud.

If this new leak is real, we might not see the RTX 3090 after all.  Since this is a leak, I strongly suggest taking it with a grain of salt until NVIDIA officially announces its new Ampere GPUs.

  1. Waiting for the 3000 series prices, my GTX 970 is a potato by now and I haven’t upgraded since getting my gaming PC in 2016.

    1. They won’t sell cheap though. I think nvidia will still follow the same policy as Truing cards.

high-end cards are surely gonna be expensive.

    2. Upgraded my GTX970 to RTX2070 Super in December of 2019. I’m anxiously waiting what RTX3070 will be like. Hopefully AMD”s RDNA2 lineup is competitive and will make nVidia slash prices to adequate levels.

  2. Nice. But why are the words RTX 3080 ti engraved on the GPU itself ? I mean did someone Photoshop it ? but anyways, since videocardz has leaked it, then this might be a legit leak.

    1. Colorful is actually a decent brand, but they mostly target the ASIAN market. Some of their models are pretty good from what I’ve seen/read on the internet so far.

Some may not like the looks/aesthetics of their cards, but the build quality of some of the Models is rock solid. The same goes for GAINWARD brand.

  3. I wonder if this 3080Ti will only be available for sale locally on Asian markets while Asus will redesign it for overseas consuption.

  4. I wish there was an option to buy without heatsink/fans for cheaper so you could just attach your own block.
