Microsoft has released a new set of screenshots from the PC alpha build of Microsoft Flight Simulator. These screenshots showcase some truly amazing visuals, however, nothing has prepared you for a gameplay video that we’ve included below.
This gameplay video showcases a plane landing during a storm. Naturally, the video shows off the game’s incredible volumetric clouds and weather effects. And this gameplay video looks more next-gen-ish than what both Sony and Microsoft have showcased so far. I mean, we’re talking about a map that has the size of the entire Earth and looks THAT detailed.
Also note that this alpha gameplay footage. This could mean that the final product may look – and run – better than what is being displayed here. We should also remind you that this alpha build does not use any Ray Tracing effects.
Below you can also find some additional PC screenshots from Microsoft Flight Simulator. These screenshots showcase the visuals/graphics that PC gamers can already experience in this game.
As we’ve already reported, there isn’t any ETA on when this game will come out. Moreover, and while Microsoft also plans to release it on Xbox One X, it will certainly not look as impressive as the PC version.
Enjoy the screenshots and stay tuned for more!

It does look amazing. Hopefully there’s offline play too. Real time weather is nice but not necessary for me.
While the screen shots do look gorgeous, note that the closer you get to the ground, the uglier everything looks. Particularly the houses and other buildings. It’s still a widely impressive and beautiful game, so no doubt I very much appreciate what they’re able to do. The cockpits and tutorials are getting better and better also.
Far less impressive than the Horizon 2 trailer in my opinion.
For Flight Simulator we have real screenshots and game clips taken by users showing us real gameplay.
For Horizon 2 we only have a cinematic trailer using game engine footage but which rarely is representative of real gameplay quality in-game.
Please don’t be naive and believe trailers – it is no different than the E3 trailers that companies churn out every year which look miles better than the actual game.
I actually think these consoles might be able to handle this game given they have a 8 core zen 2 CPU at 3.5+Ghz.
I rarely say these things not a console user so don’t attack but the main limiting factor for this game in the newer consoles is most likely the ram.
Looks great that’s for sure
This game will be glorious!
Why it will look better on PC? Because you can run at 8k?
Do you think this game or Star Citizen has better graphics?
you cant comapare a game to a tech demo
Stop comparing the PC platform with consoles…absolutely no generation ever in the past or future will outperform the PCs of that generation…EVER!
Digital Foundry just revealed that the best-looking games featured in the official PlayStation 5 reveal were running at 30fps. ???
Not my kind of game but man does it look frikking awsome. Blows away all POS so called nextgen Sony showed last night. Yeah that magic souse huh. What a load of crap!
Of course it’s early days and new engine and time will make games much better looking.
But we pc gamer as allways knows about the marketing propaganda. Never deliver what they say. Only pc deliver 😉
Liked Ratchet tho. That was the most nextgenish to me and that Square Enix game, that also will come to Pc!
Just wait until MS shows of Halo Infinity. That will be real nextgen I say – HOPE 😀
? Of course it does. It’s a PC game. Kind of stating the obvious.
