Uh, Devil May Dark Souls anyone?
Looks fun, but man there is nothing in that trailer original.
DMC combat (down to the animations and moves) with Dark Souls styling.
Unless I’m wrong. Did I miss anything?
I like the gigantic ruined palaces, really gives that otherworldly look. But it looks so generic its like your average medieval fantasy rpg, also yes its not just the combat and animations that look like dmc but the character too. Wtf?
Looks meh~!
meh?
meh, doesn’t.. even…fcking…describe it!!

more low iq button mashing entertainment that is going to get praised by the low iq majority in the gaming industry, nice.
Not to say I’m surprised or hyped but it definitely looks better than CODE VEIN which stole inspiration from souls and followed up by being a Minecrafty-linear-cave exploration game. Platinum and the devs from DMC franchise are probably the only people who can make a proper hack’n’slash so this should appeal to anyone interested in the fighting genre.
Square Enix As Publisher = Denuvo Incoming = Hard Pass. Fuq You Square Enix
It looks like it is getting first developed on PC which is a good sign. They mention it at the end the in game trailer is from PC:)
The best thing about Platinum games is that they are often deeper than they look at first glance.
I’ll blame the lackluster trailer on the marketing team, who probably wanted to appeal to DMC genre type fans.
But if you’ve ever played a Platinum game, you know its going to be surprisingly deep and awesome.
“Square Enix has unveiled a… new game from PlatinumGames”
The number of updates PlatinumGames/Square Enix have done to patch NieR Automata since its release on PC well over 2.5 years ago? Zero.
I didn’t buy NieR Automata for that very reason so if PlatinumGames/Square Enix evidently don’t care for their customers on PC then I won’t be buying this next game either. Oh, and NieR Automata still uses Denuvo so there’s a second reason for why PlatinumGames/Square Enix can f*ck right off.
No sexy armor for female character,no buy…
The aesthetic has real promise, but needs work. Seems to have a lot of impressionism influence in that “brushstroke” engine or whatever they call it. I think it’s pretty good for something so early, though maybe they should have kept a lid on it till E3.
And what’s with those 4 silhouettes at the end? Dare I hope for co-op?
Whatever happens, Platinum has yet to disappoint when it comes to game play. It’ll be at least worth keeping an eye on.
Gameplay looks quite fluid, but the plot behind it is what I need to know.
