Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox have just released a new teaser trailer from what looks to be a new Homeworld game. The teams claimed that they’ll make a special announcement at PAX West 2019 in order to celebrate 20 years of Homeworld.
Unfortunately, Gearbox did not reveal any additional details. Blackbird Interactive will handle this upcoming Homeworld project. After all, Blackbird was the team behind Homeworld Remaster and Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak.
Gearbox will make this Homeworld announcement at PAX West Gearbox Main Theater Show, on August 30th at 1:30pm PT. This announcement will be livestreamed online, and we’ll be sure to share whatever Gearbox has to share.
Until then, enjoy the following teaser trailer!

John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”

“Blackbird Interactive will handle this upcoming Homeworld project.”
Still not sure if he’s hating on Gearbox or the game itself. I never know in the comments section over here.
Well the problem isn’t so much deciphering what his meaning might be, the problem (and it’s always been this way) is the ambiguity of who exactly deserves the hate or the props for good games, bad games, etc.
The general gamer can’t be bothered to accurately follow which developers hire or fire specific people from other devs, from other companies, add new development leads that might suck/be great. It’s very vague and almost always hidden behind the scenes, and thus it’s just easier to voice an opinion on the last game from whoever’s being discussed. It can be frustrating.
wow this came out of nowhere!
I’m hyped. 🙂
Likely to be an EGS exclusive, and I won’t care for the franchise when that happens.
Gearbox?
Dropped
Deserts of Kharak was utter GARBAGE. Couldn’t configure keys or camera settings.
Do not trust whoever was in charge of that slop fest.
Gearbox, as always, Blackbird will work with what they have, which will be a sandwich and a couple of dimes.
