Fallout 4 mods add AI-enhanced LOD textures, HD landscape & road textures, improve interior lighting

Some new mods that improve the visuals of Fallout 4 have been released this weekend. These four mods that we’re presenting you in this article will improve the interior lighting and will add new HD textures.

Let’s start with the interior lighting mod, called “Ultra Interior Lighting“. This mod brings many more shadow lights and a general improvement to overall lighting, ambience and fog to the interiors. The cities in which you will see these improvements are: Commonweatlh, Far Harbor and Nuka World.

In its latest version, modder ‘gargorias’ improved the performance issue in the Last Plank. Gargorias was able to achieve this by removing the shadow cast on the window lights. Moreover, the modder worked on improving the performance and lighting in many levels.

On the other hand, modder ‘luxor8071’ released a new version of his realistic HD texture overhaul for Fallout 4’s landscapes. Moreover, the modder has also released the Real Roads HD Texture Pack. This pack adds new HD Textures for Sanctuary Roads, Asphalt, Asphalt Cracks, Asphalt Trim, Metal HW, Road Railings, Concrete Roads and Sidewalks.

Last but not least, modder payl0ad released a must-have texture pack for Fallout 4. This pack improves the distant LOD textures by using AI Neural Networks. The network upscales and denoises the game’s files to 512×512 and then runs them through a pass of light sharpen filters for added crispiness. The visual difference is pretty noticeable, so we strongly suggest downloading and using it. Below you can find some comparison screenshots.

Have fun!

  1. I applaud the persistence of the fan base but in mind these sort of mods are pointless as they only upgrade visuals without changing stuff that really counts i.e. gameplay and plot. Those are still mediocre at best no matter how much you sugarcoat the game with better visual enhancements.

    1. I pretty much just play fallout 4(beat it like 3 times) lol i have over 300 hours in the game and i feel like i still haven’t touched it all.

The main plot of the game is predictable and to be honest short but the side quests and settlement building(which i love) just makes the game endless.

Issues with this game that will never be fixed is the darn load times(i have it installed on a M.2 970 evo).

Also the little glitches like when you go to a terminal and it randomly doesn’t work(happens like 10% of the time).

      Typical Bethesda errors however

    2. I don’t understand what you’re complaining about.

Visual mods are relatively easy and quick to do, an can be done by individuals.

You expect random people from the community to essentially re-develop the most complex parts of the game, for free in their spare time?

Can you show me people saying that visual mods make the actual game better?

      1. A. I’m not complaining merely expressing my opinion and actually appluad the efforts of the dedicated fanbase .
        and
        B. I’m not expecting modders to fix fundamental flaws in the game, it’s impossible. If it’s unclear refer to point A.
        C. Visual mods inherently can’t make a lousy game better, it’s like poishing a turd or putting it in a nice cover, neither of which matter cause it’s still a turd.
