Quantic Dream very pleased with Heavy Rain’s PC sales, Sony gave the green light for the PC releases

Quantic Dream’s David Cage has revealed that the team is very pleased with Heavy Rain’s current PC sales figures. Heavy Rain came out exclusively on Epic Games Store, and its PC sales align with Quantic Dream’s expectations.

Cage has also added that he believes that Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human will have “great legs” on the Epic Games Store. In other words, they will sell well in the long run. Cage claimed that Quantic Dream’s titles are long-sellers, and believes that new players will keep discovering its titles in the coming years.

Cage has also revealed that most of Quantic Dream’s future games will release on all platforms at launch. That is of course unless there are some specific exclusivity deals on a title-by-title basis. Still, Quantic Dream aims to release its games to as many platforms as possible.

What’s also interesting here is that, according to Cage, Sony was the one that allowed Quantic Dream to release its games on the PC.

“We always had a great relationship with Sony PlayStation. They have always been very supportive of my work and we have always been very loyal to them in return. So we had a very open talk about all this, and they allowed us to release our catalog of titles on PC.”

The reason I’m bringing this is because the very same thing may happen with Death Stranding. Let’s not forget that Sony has removed the game from its PS4 Exclusive Games. As such, it makes perfect sense to expect a PC version of it in the future. After all, the game was initially announced as a PS4/PC title.

  1. “Quantic Dream very pleased with Heavy Rain’s PC sales, Sony gave the green light for the PC releases” I m not trying to insult the write of the article, but jezus pleased with sales ? ahhh as always not single real proof of their success and btw why would sony give a single f@@k about some old games that not matter anymore LOL. Jezus this epic games sugar coating is like cancer to me. Again happening same thing happend with metro exodus pleased with sales and 0 proof to back it up. ONLY ONE CONCLUSION FORTNITE MONEY IN THEIR POCKET THATS IT.

  2. If death stranding releases on epic games I will sad since I will be forced to pirate it and I don’t like to support piracy since I have a decent steam account with a big library.

      1. Hopefully it will cause it wont matter since a month or 2 wait is no problem for me 🙂 I have bought so many games on steam summer sale I cant wait for as long as possible.

  3. It sold 1 million units after 10 days on PS3 back in Feb 2010. Care to tell us how much it has sold on PC? Obviously it mustn’t be impressive if you are Microsofting the situation with sales numbers and not talking about them.

        1. >wrong use of cuck as an insult
          >crying about Sony censorship everywhere like a baby
          >calling everyone who disagrees with them a SJW
It’s funny watching someone like you make themselves look like an idiot in front of a big audience…

    1. Ummm..they didnt. I stepped down as mod some weeks ago because I have a different job now and don’t have the time for mod stuff anymore.

Oh..but guess who is one of the persons responsible for your spot.im account ban there ;D

  4. I had almost forgotten that Detroit: Become Human is right around corner, it will be such a treat on PC in terms of visual fidelity.

  5. Quantic Dream, partly owned by a Chinese company, makes positive PR statement about business partnership with EGS which itself is partly owned by a Chinese company.

    Imagine my shock.

  6. Fernando, I’m sure Epic will make all your dreams come true. You must believe in Epic because it is great for the future of gaming. Sweeney and his crew will one day have a shopping cart button, and the platform will be able to pre-load games like Borderlands 3 in the future. Keep hope alive, man! Lol

  7. the more games come on PC, the better, but I really don’t understand this enthusiasm for death stranding! Not enough Kojima alone to make a great video game …. and from what we’ve seen so far, Death Stranding seems to me all but a great game!

  8. Game is great but not meant for everyone.
I don’t think it would sell that good, but I hope it really did so we can see more of this PS exclusives craps on PC.
I did replay it couple of months ago and I’ll wait for Detroit to be pirated, since I’ve just played it on the peasants machine. That’s another great game.
In fact, only Beyond is bad, I mean, real bad.

Death Stranding uses Sony’s first party engine and was never announced to go to PC. As a journalist you should do your research and you would learn that there was a mistranslation about DS on PC and the interviewer said Kojima never said it was going to PC.

Quantic Dream also owns Heavy Rain and the engine for the games. Koji does not own DS or the engine.
