I know that most of our readers hate the Epic Games Store, however Epic is doing a great job by offering some great free games. And next week, the team will be offering Ubisoft’s For Honor and Remedy’s Alan Wake for free to everyone.

From today and until August 2nd, Epic Games is offering Moonlighter and This War of Mine for free to all PC gamers.
Ubisoft’s For Honor is an online brawler (though it also features a simple single-player campaign), however I’m pretty sure that the Epic Games Store version will allow gamers to play against those that already own the game on UPLAY.
As for Alan Wake… well… this is a single-player game you really need to play. Alan Wake is easily the second-best Remedy game (of course nothing can top Max Payne) and it’s a must-play experience, especially now that it will be offered for free. Seriously, this kind of free games are what Epic needs in order to attract more gamers.

I enjoy the occasional free games but not when they’re being churned out like this. I know it’s weird but I prefer buying these games to directly contribute to the game makers themselves.
What Epic is doing with these constant free games is making me feel like I owe them a favor for buying out those games for me. That doesn’t right.

can I know why you all hate the epic store? I would like serious reasons and understand what’s wrong with it? I currently have a library of 16 games on epic store …. all for free! it doesn’t seem to me that steam has ever given me anything for free! so, can I know why all this hate?
Now this is a 1000% representation of why people hate the epic store, asking with Timothy Sweeney & his Demon Gaming Empire. Thank You, the first sentence alone is the ultimate reason. “It’s just plain morally wrong. They actively FORCE exclusives on to PC of all platforms.” ?
Don’t forget the fact that Tim Sweeney is almost as big of a liar as Donald Trump.
They believe that the Epic Store is malware for China (disproved), major security breach (also disproved), the store lacks features (being added over time with one just a day ago), Epic offer devs/pubs exclusivity agreements and they take them who in business wouldn’t, they offer the same to kickstarter projects and they take them again who wouldn’t, bunch of other things like refunds (fixed and work like Steam now) and the like that comes back to those missing features being added over time, biggest one of all though for a lot a them is it’s not Steam.
No Steam, no buy and all that.
To all of it I say that I thought better of the PC gaming community thinking they were the more mature of the gaming communities out there, but if all it takes is a new store to come along for them to act in a way that is lower than a screaming toddler then I guess I was completely wrong.
I, along will thousands of others, will enjoy the free games on offer and the many games due to release this year alone like Shenmue III, Mechwarrior 5, Control, Detroit: Become Human, Rebel Galaxy Outlaws, and the many other games due to release on the store in the future.
People will continue to cry when Epic offer a publisher or developer an exclusivity agreement for 6/12 months, but at the end of the day it really is just another piece of software to download your games.
Oh and to be clear not everyone hates the store or Epic. Sales numbers of games like Metro Exodus and others prove it’s quite popular and is doing well. Developers and publishers are obviously finding it to their advantage or they wouldn’t keep taking the deals Epic are offering.

I don’t hate EpicStore, I love EpicStore more than Steam, because in my country Steam doesn’t have a store located, EpicStore does, it means much lower prices, well … I like to take care of my economy and keep playing good games , I have TheDivision2 thanks to EpicStore.

It is not as rare as you think, here in Latin America there are many countries where Steam has not located a store, and EpicStore has located, and as I said, that translates into much lower, much lower prices. For example when “Metro Exodus” was available on Steam its price was 70 dollars, then when I go to EpicStore under 30 dollars, it was my first pre-purchased game thanks to Epic … what? I’m poor with rich tastes
