Microsoft has announced some new features that will be coming to the Windows 10 Game Bar. According to the team, Spotify, Gallery and Memes, Customizable UI, as well as Friends, Chat, and Mixer are coming to the Windows 10 Game Bar. These features are available to Windows Gaming Insiders who can access and test them.
Going into more details, gamers will be able to easily control music and podcasts on Spotify from the Spotify widget in the Game bar, including play/pause/skip, changing current playback device, and selecting playlists recommended for you by Spotify.
Furthermore, players will be able to open the Capture widget in the Game bar menu, and take a screenshot or video. Once captured they can edit their video and add overlay text to their screenshot in the Game bar gallery.
Windows 10 gamers will be also able to customize their UI by choosing which widgets to show/hide, where they want them located, and even pin specific widgets, and they will be able to see what their friends are playing, and they can quickly text them, voice chat them, or watch their Mixer stream all from within the Game bar.
Now I’m personally not using the Game Bar but it’s pretty obvious that Microsoft is doing its best to overhaul this feature.
Microsoft did not reveal when these features will be made available to all Windows 10 users, so I’m not pretty sure whether they will be included in the May 2019 update. Speaking of which, beginning with the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, users will be more in control of initiating the feature OS update.
You can find more details about the new Windows 10 update features here, though we’ve listed below the key features.
- Download and install now option provides users a separate control to initiate the installation of a feature update on eligible devices with no known key blocking compatibility issues. Users can still “Check for updates” to get monthly quality and security updates. Windows will automatically initiate a new feature update if the version of Windows 10 is nearing end of support. We may notify you when a feature update is available and ready for your machine. All Windows 10 devices with a supported version will continue to automatically receive the monthly updates. This new “download and install” option will also be available for our most popular versions of Windows 10, versions 1803 and 1809, by late May.
- Extended ability to pause updates for both feature and monthly updates. This extension ability is for all editions of Windows 10, including Home. Based on user feedback we know that any update can come at an inconvenient time, such as when a PC is needed for a big presentation. So, we’re making it possible for all users to pause both feature and monthly updates for up to 35 days (seven days at a time, up to five times). Once the 35-day pause period is reached, users will need to update their device before pausing again.
- Intelligent active hours to avoid disruptive update restarts. The active hours feature, introduced in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, relies on a manually configured time range to avoid automatically installing updates and rebooting. Many users leave the active hours setting at its 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. default. To further enhance active hours, users will now have the option to let Windows Update intelligently adjust active hours based on their device-specific usage patterns.
- Improved update orchestration to improve system responsiveness. This feature will improve system performance by intelligently coordinating Windows updates and Microsoft Store updates, so they occur when users are away from their devices to minimize disruptions.

MICROSOFT welcomes you with open hands….Embrace it
I wish they’d just create a lightweight version that doesn’t need any manual tuning.
I used to get the custom light versions of XP. Those were the days.
Its called windows 7
Yeah I like my games to be supported tho
On a serious note, talk of a new, lightweight version of Windows has been making the rounds since late last year, after references to “Windows Lite” popped up inside one of the many Windows Insider Preview builds that were released.
I think Windows Lite is going to be Microsoft’s Chrome OS competitor ..just like Windows 10 S was, except for real this time.
Simply put, it’s for people who don’t need full Windows devices. It’s for the same people who are looking at the iPad with iOS..
But, Microsoft is preparing a new lightweight version of Windows for dual-screen devices and Chromebook competitors.“Windows Lite,” as it’s codenamed internally, is a more stripped-down version of Windows that is initially being prioritized for dual-screen devices.
BTW, ‘Santorini‘ would be the codename for Microsoft’s new ‘Windows Lite’ OS.

I’ve heard the rumors too but it sounds like an OS that is built around touch input, and I rather have none of that in my OS at all. Same with OneDrive integration and all that junk. Did you see that video I posted of Tech Yes City? I really really strongly recommend you check it out. ESPECIALLY if you like doing benchmarks on your PC, it will improve your scores.
“” Did you see that video I posted of Tech Yes City?””
Nope, I haven’t watched that Video yet. Will go through it now..Thanks.
windows lite will be for IOT devices
Win10 gamers, if you haven’t already done this, get on it. It drastically improves your PC experience.

Just what Windows 10 needs, more bloatware. I’ll continue to avoid this pile of garbage.
Sigh, i wonder what this update will break this time
Still on Windows 7 Ultimate, I wonder why?
And you are getting DX12 support soon…
I only jumped in Win 10 because I got an SSD and wanted Forza. I’ve sh*t off all the bs I could (as with any Windows OS) and haven’t had issues with it overall.

Me : Did anyone said MEMES?
Article 13 : ( ?° ?? ?°)
Something tells me this update will be pretty massive. Over 9000 megabytes!

Hey, that’s 12…..Bill gates is wrong. 😀
EDIT: By the way, I was about to post this exact same Meme, but since you already uploaded it, I chose another one instead.
Bill counts in duodecimal, haha!
LOL.
Why? Can’t it just record the gameplay and make screenshots? Does the app need to do all these new ridiculous things?
Does this increase fps? No? Then don’t care.

Still using Windows 8.1 pro and do not want to change.
Same here. Since windows 7 is dead for Microsoft, Windows 8.1 remains the best choice.
OFF TOPIC…
Rumour – Red Dead Redemption 2 to be revealed as an Epic Games Store Exclusive on PC.
But the source is 4.CHAN – (so take it with a grain of Salt)..
The 4chan leaker states that Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC version will be revealed on April 22nd as an Epic Games Store exclusive, with the full game having a planned release date of July 19th 2019. The post also mentions that this is not a timed exclusive, but a permanent one, with Epic Games and Take-Two, the owner or Rockstar Games, creating a deal which will give the company full profit on any DLC that’s released for the game’s PC version.
While the source of this rumour is one that should not be taken seriously, what is said makes a lot of sense for both Epic Games and Take-Two. Red Dead Redemption 2 would be a massive draw for the Epic Games Store, and Take-Two would undoubtedly want to generate the maximum amount of revenue per sale that they can.
I’m providing the Links below (will take some time to go live):

@John, also check this out. Slightly related to Windows 10 OS.
Microsoft launches Chromium Edge Browser Alpha to Windows 10 Users..
The software giant has announced that they are making Chromium-based Edge browsers available to “Edge Insiders”, with Canary builds (which update daily) and Developer Builds (which are updated weekly). So far, the browser is only available on Windows 10, but support for older versions of Windows and MacOS are also planned.
