Telltale The Walking Dead Final Season will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store

Skybound Games and Epic Games have partnered to bring TELLTALE’S THE WALKING DEAD: THE FINAL SEASON on PC exclusively to the Epic Games store for all future purchases. However, fans who already bought the season on a different PC platform will still receive the final two episodes through their previous point of purchase.

This basically means that if you bought the Season Pass on Steam, you will be able to download the Final Season on Steam. For future purchases, however, the game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store.

President of Interactive Dan Murray and Skybound Games CEO Ian Howe said:

“The team at Epic owns a major chapter in the history of the game industry. We’re excited to work together on their latest transformative event with the launch of the Epic Games Store. Epic stepped up to the plate immediately to work with us in order to bring the original team back together and ensure fans will receive the completed season of TELLTALE’S THE WALKING DEAD: THE FINAL SEASON.”

The third episode of TELLTALE’S THE WALKING DEAD: THE FINAL SEASON will release on January 15th!

  1. lol… that is epic (a company who stole thing from their clients and stole dance moves from another people) doing competition in PC gaming…

  2. You know your store is off to a flop of a start, when you are desperately (and pathetically), trying to buy exclusivity to make your garbage dump relevant.

Just get lost, Epic. Hurry up and go bankrupt.

    1. Epic will never go bankrupt, not when UE4 exists. not when fortnite exists. not when KH3 exists. not when Assetto corsa exists. not when the FFVII Remake exists. or ShenMue 3, not when 50% of indie development exists. or not when Sony and Microsoft who each have shares invested in UE4. (Days gone and Gears Of war.)

Epic is at position (much Like Valve) to dictate the marketing and usage of their engine.

      1. Epic is doing no differently than what would i expect from any other company. Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, EA, Ubisoft, SE, Valve, Google and Epic are all game related services.

the system though hasn’t much changed, all you need to play all of these services is a PC or Laptop. no real big deal to me.

      2. Over the next 5 years there are hundreds of upcoming games using the Unreal Engine 4. No doubt sometime after that they will develop the Unreal Engine 5 and continue the cycle like what they did with all their previous engines.

          1. Epic is already half owned by chinese government. They will buy few more percent and have the majority.

  3. Looks like an EPIC hate train in here.
    Gamers getting mad over exclusivity.
I’ve never seen so many people always so angry in one place.
I guess dying young is the new agenda.
Unhealthy habits and physically, antisocial, depression and anger, good chain combo.
Must be a viral type of mentality, I guess I am not hip enough to be in the know.

    1. Or just dumb enough not to be. Games exclusivity should not exist anywhere on the PC. Leave that crap to the consoles- but if you you don’t know, then you don’t know.

  4. Hell No! Really?? U are trying to beat a dead IP in a already dead Store?
This type of BS really why you guys just vanish from ever making any game. FQK off

      1. But that’s their game, nobody complains about Fortnite being exclusive to the epic games store, epic straight up f*ed over people that wanted a DRM free version of the game but wanted to wait for the end of the season

          1. im 30 and dont cringe at it. in fact ive been playing it for over a year on pc. only kids use the word cringe.

          2. Im just messing with you. I dont have proof, i admit i’m a hater :). There you got it out of me my senior ^^, im only 28

          3. replying to a nearly 2 week old comment? now that’s ultimate autism.

            *Dabs in your general direction*

            heh, nothing personel kid

          4. Yikes, you know most of the time someone calls other people kids end up kids themselves lol

  5. Its a youtube game then. I sure as hell wont go near that store. Why even bother buying it anyways.
The end will be more or less the same. You could always watch 2 or 3 different people and still get the whole story (and keep ur money)

    1. I dont know, i saw the whole batman game and i was pretty invested in it. Maybe it takes away the feeling that ur the one responsible, but even then i was all aboard. Getting scared, shocked, sad and thrilled. I barely missed a feeling. Its even funny if you watch it a second time with some cool/funny youtubber. (for the second ending)

  6. 1,949 titles within my Steam library. I don’t need another client. I hope I am not the only lost sale Skybound Games / Telltale Games suffers.

    1. Damn, that’s a lot of games. I have around 250 on Steam and around 100 on GOG and quite a few are on backlog but will get played eventually when I have more free time. I keep a running list of games I want to buy and play one day with several hundred games so far.

There’s a guy over on TPU that had around 6,000 games on Steam and showed a pic of his account as proof. He played a lot of games but I think a lot of them were picked up in Humble Bundle Packages and he never intended to play them.

It’s no surprise that many owned games don’t get played. According to one survey I’ve seen around 37% of all registered games on Steam never even get played at all.

  7. Devs get the money either way. Epic pays them possibly millions to have game exclusively on their sh**ty store. I bet hardly anyone buys it from there but the devs atleast get their moneys worth
