Now here is something really interesting. Activision and Bungie have announced that Destiny 2 is available to download for free on the PC until November 18th. However, this isn’t a free to play week or something like that. Instead, PC gamers can acquire a free copy of the game and they can keep it forever.
All you have to do is download the Blizzard app (in case you haven’t installed it), head over at Destiny 2 and get your free copy. Naturally, Activision is only offering the base game, meaning that you’ll have to buy the DLCs if you are interested in them.
It’s well known that Activision makes a lot of money from micro-transactions and Destiny 2 has lots of them. So in a sense it makes sense to give the base game for free so they can increase the playerbase which may potential spend more money on microtransactions.
New Battle.net accounts created after 19:00 CET on November 2, 2018, will need to enable Blizzard SMS Protect before claiming their free copy. Destiny 2 PC is redeemable from the Battle.net gift page.
But anyway, at least those that haven’t played the game yet can do so by acquiring their free copy. It’s definitely better than a free to play period or a demo, so go ahead and take a look!

great
What a desperate move
I’m half-tempted to check out how some of the big name gaming sites are spinning this news so to keep their industry contacts sweet at major league paying advertiser Activision Blizzard.
I can’t necessarily blame them for calling this a positive, a free game is a free game after all. But they should at least be noting that the game is basically worthless without the DLC’s.
HUR DUR ALWAYS ONLINE NO PIRACY, HIGH SALES.
Not even if they paid me.
Thanks. I hope Diablo III will be next.
They sound desperate to keep their player base alive
Yea..you won’t even be able to enjoy the game without the season passes.
you don’t get it, no one likes the game itself let alone what comes with it.
Story sucks, like terrible terrible. Played it on PS4, shooting feels really good though. Game sucks still.
Normally, when this happens, the game is bad or people are not interested anymore.
Its like it was… (drum roll)… destined to happen
haha does not work for me thanks anyway
Its a trap.
We weren’t good enough for the first one so I never bought the second one. They are probably only giving it away for free to get more people buying micro-transactions or something.
Ill pass.
Next week news Destiny 2 has 3 billions gamers online.
Sorry but not going to participate in this comedy.
80 gb download… better that there are some nude alien boobs inside!
Sadly mmorpgs don’t get the repack treatment from piracy bros
should be fine for a few hours then delete.
From battlenet the game costs 59€.

Nah I have Warframe which is free and plays way better by the way. No thank you. 😉
i’ll never play it but free is free.
That means A: the game is dead. B: they are going to release a DLC that force people to upgrade or something.

Welcome to the future you helped paved, if you are guilty of throwing even one red cent at any of these BS tactics.
The game is 100% dead
They better give COD:WW2 for free than this…
Downloaded 80gb, tried it unistalled it
Why?
@JOHN, I’m updating this news under this article, because it is linked.
It looks like Bungie and Activision have split; but the IP Stays with the Developer, and Destiny 2’s Roadmap remains unaffected.
