The latest version of the Denuvo anti-tamper tech has been cracked

It appears that the latest version of the Denuvo anti-tamper tech that has been protecting the latest PC games such as Yakuza 0, Monster Hunter World, Dragon Quest XI and Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been cracked.

A certain hacking group was able to crack F1 2018 which uses the latest version of the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. Since this version, which some call Denuvo 4.9, has been successfully cracked, this hacking group may also crack some other triple-A games that were safe all this time. This also means that Denuvo will have to adjust its code for its anti-tamper tech in order to prevent these hacks in a new version of it.

This version of the Denuvo anti-tamper tech was originally bypassed by Voksi almost a month ago, who Denuvo went after. Back in July, Voksi said that Denuvo filed a case against him to the Bulgarian authorities and police came two days ago and took the server and his personal PC. Voksi is no longer working on games cracks, however other groups arose in order to fill that gap.

The good news for Denuvo is that these proper scene cracks have not been made available to the public as early as Voksi’s workarounds were. As such, Denuvo’s anti-tamper tech was able to protect all the aforementioned titles, though it will be interesting to see whether the hacking group will be able to crack Shadow of the Tomb Raider sooner than expected.

As always, we won’t allow links to pirated content and those who share such links will be banned!

    1. You do realize that, even if the Game/DRM is updated the current released version of these games just don’t disappear out of thin air right ?

  1. Going after Voksi, merely stirred the hornet’s nest. More and more groups are focusing on this cancerous DRM now, and hopefully someday, they dismantle it to proportions of its dissolution.

  2. I think I hear a very distant echo. It says “filthy……pirate……loser” something like that. It’s probably her.

          1. I was with denuvo when it was born, every pain they suffer, i suffer too. in their happiness, i’m happy too. you don’t understand my love for denuvo, you JUST DON’T.

  3. Well I just hope people who bought the game get the cracked version and not people who just want to pirate games for free.

  4. Why don’t they just go DRM free and get over all the piracy stuff cause nothing really works to stop people from going the pirate way on Pc.

    1. seems that way considering company’s that go DRM don’t seem to be going bankrupt because people aren’t buying content shows people are willing to buy as long as they aren’t stuck with the renting scheme that is DRM.

      1. It makes it harder to crack I guess but Publishers know that almost all of their games using Denuvo will get cracked in time (if they are worth bothering with cracking) but they hope to prevent the game from being cracked right away to potentially increase initial sales from people who would normally pirate games (and can afford to pay for them to begin with) but are too impatient to wait for the crack and just buy the game.

How many people is that? I doubt it’s very many of the pirates. Certainly not the majority of pirates imo. No one knows for sure but that seems to be why Publishers use Denuvo.

        1. It’s been a cat and mouse game for as long as I have been around gaming from the mid 80s to today.

DRM with PC games is a pipe dream for the most part.

        2. Harder to crack not really, in fact games are likely cracked a month or so before it becomes public knowledge often the good crackers will wait before letting people know or release of cracks because that way new games come out and they crack all of them too because it runs the same Denuvo verson.

    2. tbh Piracy would be largely nullified if they deigned to actually include demos
Dishonored 2 after 6 f**king months got it’s demo (after it was patched)
      the results? 200K new buyers

and Piracy isn’t evil per say, it’s due to Piracy that CDPR got popular in the first place…
Piracy to the consumer is simply the “demo” option that developers “forgot” to include with 60$ games
i really wish it would make a comeback…

      1. I see piracy more of an viable option when you wanna boycott a publisher that is going against the wishes of the fans like battlefield for instance or all that other SJW garbage that’s been releasing these days.

        1. most of the times it’s ineffective since a large majority of games are multiplayer only

as for single player, if the Dev is a disgusting anti-white marxist
why would i even want to play his game?

          1. In some sense you got a point, but sadly most of these company’s that go pandering or other crap are the best looking games. Some single player games still look impressive regardless of some retarded agenda.

          2. Not really, look at Wolf 2
all you do is fight in sewers and other corridor based locations
unimaginative level design and “supporting” characters you just want to shoot in the face

most of the times the developer has an agenda, his game tanks as well in terms of design, quality and other elements

hell look at Cyberpunk 2077, you think that game looks impressive?
all i see is some scripted sequence followed by a generic on rails chase sequence
shooting doesn’t feel that great, characters look like they’re straight out of a modern-day DC comic book

now look at Kingdom Come Deliverance
game had no agenda in mind, and didn’t take flak from Marxists trying to defame the main designer (who has jewish ancestry mind you) for refusing to muddle his game with Political correctness

the result? a game which has an organic A.I scheduling
realistic physics based damage system, immersive hunger+sleep system
of course ultra realistic graphics of the cryengine

sure the story was small in scope, but considering how DETAILED the world is and how it draws you in
i’ed say it was pretty damn impressive, these are the types of games you should spend your time with and not the Marxist crap from (((AAA))) developers

        2. You right, for example I have an issue with Nintendo, so i never buy their games, only recently I got New 3DS XL, than week later on sale DSi XL (it was less then 50USD and DS games look much better on IPS screen in native resolution then on 3DS) and last week I got Switch [one of the last with low serial number that can be cracked].
Already cracked all of them , 200Gb for n3DSxl, 32gb for DSxl and 256Gb for Switch.
also I have 2 hacked PS Vita, one OLED with 256GB to play vita games and one new LCD model to play PSP games only with 200GB microSD.
The only proper console that I have and buy games for is PS4Pro and PC [although before the vita was hacked i think i spent maybe 500-800USD on games that i never played because im a hoarding type not really play anything], I have over 600 games on steam but i never say no to cracked game, but I can honestly say that I never finished cracked game without buying retail version sometime later on deep discount to have in my collection.
Im an impulse buyer and got so many full price console games that I never played or played them when they came with second GOTY release with DLC complete.
So I started to train myself to not buy games until im ready to actually sit and play or they appear during sale for a price that i wont mind even if i wont play them.
The last pre-order was god of war that i haven’t touched, but then decided to wait for Detroit and got it for like 30$, haven’t played it yet so im sure by them i will will it will be 20$.
Got PC version of TR pre-orderd, i assumed it was a deal 44$ on GMG, i loved 2 previous game but yet again i cant force myself to sit and play.

          1. I know that feeling all too well. I have such a big backlog but still i buy games i wanna support while already having so many i have yet to play. and there is so much getting released constantly and with each other console release your old stuff becomes obsolete.

Now i mostly buy GOG games and stick to one online shooter which is mainly Rising storm vietnam 2.

  5. DSO stop this click bait crap…

Denuvo implementation in Game A is not the same for Game B.
Every game has different implementation by developers some are easier some are harder with more custom checks and triggers…

For Securom7 this worked, every almost game had the same implementation of that DRM so there was scene release on day1 or p2p release… but those days are history.

  6. Aww poor Kim, watching this falls AAA games succumb to “filthy pirates” must be so incredibly frustrating to his cause.

  7. If i was a dev or a publisher, i would look at ALL the times denuvo’s been cracked and look at how people hate that technology and would most probably just not spend any money on that anti-temper tech. At this point it’s throwing money in fire.

I wonder why they KEEP forcing it down our throats. I mean don’t they see that plenty of games that AREN’T even protected sell well and make profit ? …

Make a GOOD game and people will buy it.

    1. I have a long-standing theory these are just cover-your-*ss tactics for them at this point, so that if some stockholder asks “what are we doing to counter piracy” they can just point to Denuvo and say “we’re using the best anti-piracy tech on the market!”

    1. You need to put your cat on a Meow Mix diet my friend. Seriously, that fat cat is a glutton. On a sad note it could shorten it’s life. I know you don’t want that.

          1. I’m doing it because it pisses off people apparently, since I’m incredibly bored with the comment section as of lately. Some guy named Alex got extremely angry at it and blocked me. Which is exactly what I wanted!

  8. Because Of Denuvo I’ve saved so much money by NOT their buying games, since 2014. By Not purchasing Shadow of The Tomb Raider & Just Cause 4, my wallet will be freed up to purchase DRM-Free Games ONLY. Or treat myself to A new Boot for the winter I’ve been eying. This is amazing, Thanks Denuvo….

  9. 1 – games are not even worth pirating anymore
2 – games wont be pirated if they were good or complete at launch (also not buggy and better priced)
3 – games need demos way before the game comes out and also during the game.. just have DEMOS IN GENERAL.

4 – going back to some old game thats way better than most of the toilet related bs that comes out of 2017+

  10. damn, the denovu’s protection over titles has strained over the time. i remember when with the previous denovus it held it’s defences for almost a year with rise of the tombraider, and now with shadow of the tomb raider, it held only 2 days. i guess eidos monreal/square should pay really a small amount of money for the denovu’s protection time that it withstand, now that its cracked. it’s good that denovu’s business practice goes by longevity of the protection, then just over the ownership of it. at least denovu’s company are handling the deal fair with the developers.

  11. Good Down With Denuvo <3.

Denuvo so anti consumer, so much performance issues especially running multiple games / tasks on a pc it's not even funny.

Denuvo always just makes pirates too…

    – How piracy works?

Pirates, have a person who buys a game off Steam, downloads and refunds the game, they then work on a crack, and once cracked even before the game is released on a seed-box / torrent, and then once a crack is released a person can use the game for free.

The only people hurt by Piracy are the consumers not the pirates for me it takes only 30 minutes to download whatever I want to and use Multi-Layered VPN, with a private server that destroys all logs and data within 24 hours so there is no information left behind and yup you guessed it any game on Steam can be gotten for free…

I'd rather buy my games legally owning over 200 games on Steam, but there is no way I am paying for anymore games using Denuvo when it totally screws with my PC.
