The Nintendo Switch emulator, Ryujinx, can run some games at almost constant 60fps

Gamedev1909 has announced that the best Nintendo Switch emulator, Ryujinx, can now run some 2D games with almost constant 60fps. These games that are already working great with Ryujinx are Puyo Puyo Tetris, The Binding Of Isaac and Cave Story.

In addition, Gamedev1909 claimed that Sonic Forces now runs better in the latest version of Ryujinx, and that Toki Tori and Toki Tori 2 Plus can now go in-game.

RyujiNX is a Nintendo Switch Emulator programmed in C#, aiming to offer good performance, a friendly interface, and consistent builds.

Alongside the aforementioned games, RyujiNX can also run Sonic Mania, Axiom Verge and Disgaea 5, and it can boot some triple-A Nintendo first party games, like Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2.

    1. My experience shows that Nintendo fanboys and Star Citizens fanboys are very vocal and very, very insecure. There seems to be more of them than on any other platform/game, and in related topics they are extremely pushy.
Thankfully normal fans are great, and thanks to them overall image is not yet this broken.

  1. Why would someone use an emulator to play Binding of Issac or Cave Story when they are available native on PC ?

    1. Cause people feel technically marvelled when they emulate a device.., it’s all a technical glory. I used to be a teenager too once.
Then there are some people too cheap to sacrfice 10 bucks on Steam to play these kinds of games

  2. Does Nintendo Switch have any exclusives? I think the appeal of Switch is more in the hardware for me…not the games!
The emulator that really excites me right now is RPCS3…

    1. Switch has a boat of exclusives, which I won’t list save for undermining your comment about Switch software not interesting you.
But Octopath Traveler seems to be a bonafide hit

      1. If you throw away indies and jRPG’s then you will have …. I don’t know, maybe bayonetta?
Even with all games, the AAA titles you can probably count on fingers. (And I do count Bayonetta as single IP).
Still, this rabbits strategy and octopath are decent titles, probably good enough to get the console for a travelling time. But Switch is badly lacking diversity and choice, as well as solid number of good non-indie games.

        1. Well, Mario Kart 8 would be arguably one of the best arcade/novel racers, BOTW essentially won last GOTY. Mario Tennis is touch n go, but probably one of the few examples of a solid tennis game. XenoChron 2, was major flawed, but still a content filled RPG. Course Odyssey represents obe of the few greater 3D platformers. Arms is arguably one of the better boxing games (novel style at least).
So far regarding exclusives, Switch has quite a few genres covered.

          1. covered… by one title in gender, which is Mario … 😉
Having one title, aiming at rather young target, is something I wouldn’t call ‘covered’.

          2. Well for the titles I mentioned, they were essentially amongst some of the best for their respective genres.
But they’re not the only options, JRPGs are abounding and a lotta the usual 3rd party stuff is there for your shooters, adventures etc..
Switch is 18 months old. It’s done ok.
I see the industry still being skeptical about its success, such is all the ‘old’ ports still coming.
A few more devs need to make a touch of original software, like Ubisoft

          3. Can you really compare a mario cart to Project Cars, Assetto orsa, Forza, Forza horizon, NFS, GTS, Driveclub, F1, Dirt etc? That is a coverage – a bunch of games I can get picky about and choose one which gives me most of the fun, or play few of them to find what I want the most. While you’re saying: Mario Cart is best in genre! sit down and be happy! 🙂

Choice. There is simply not much choice. I do respect having some good games, but personally I do not like Mario Carts. I do like to play racing games with a real cars.
Even for jRPGS’s there is much bigger choice of good jRPG on PC or PS4.
And this is not being skeptical about the success. Switch is already a success. But this doesn’t mind there is a lot of great games to play with. There are a few great games, but really, just a few.
Still it is a good system, and is getting better, as N learns a bit about the modern internet (cloud saves anyone…). Just lets not get crazy, there is still too low 3rd party coverage.

          4. Yeah when i called M-Kart the general best in it’s genre, I’m considering it a different genre to the sim racers you’re talking about. M-Kart to me is a novel/arcade racer.
And true, Switch does have less choice, largely cause it’s newer, but your original statement said it had no exclusive games, which is a bit underestimating it
As for 3rd party, I don’t even care about all those typical games. Even though I buy some.
Ubisoft always develops something new from the ground up on Nintendo systems. If only a couple others would take the same inspiration instead of cramming top end PC esque games on Switch

          5. PS4 is 4 years old, while the Switch is less than 2 years in the market. I wonder why the former has more games?

          6. Did you, like, really read this thread at all?

“Switch has a boat of exclusives, which I won’t list”
“So far regarding exclusives, Switch has quite a few genres covered”

While Switch is an ok console with some sweet titles for jrpg fan as myself, there is nearly no other reasons to buy it, especially if you aren’t fan of 360p resolution. In stationary version.

It’s obvious which one have more games, and this was never a topic touched by any of people in here. What was discussed though is that there are only few exclusives at all, with like 3-4 actually good, and maybe one aimed for non jrpg gamer. who is looking for more adult theme. Adult like in Witcher 3, or Doom… but not ‘360p’ doom, please.

So yes, I agree, nice strawman, bringing up topic which wasn’t part of discussion and then build your opinion around it.

          7. “Good” is subjective. There is LA Noire, Wolfenstein, Doom, Skyrim, Resident Evil Revelations and more as “adult” games, none of them is 360p. Stop spreading lies. Doom was patched and it improved resolution, you would know that if you played the game.

  3. But, but, but you can’t enjoy a game if its not running at 999,999.999PPP and 999,999,999FPS….Clearly its not about enjoying a game to the morons who want these emulators so desperately, its clearly about not paying money for things they want….But its hilarious that they claim its because they can’t enjoy a game how its programed it has to but super duper 999,999,999P and 999,999,999FPS or its terrible…..

  4. All we need now is that emulator to run on a handheld device, and Switch is doomed……(again……)

(until the next time it’s really REALLY doomed)

Does Nintendo Switch have any exclusives?”
ARMS, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Octopath Traveler, Mario Tennis Aces, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario+Rabbids. All of them are critically acclaimed games, if this is what you meant by “good”. 7 in less than 2 years in the market.

The source you posted was from last year, it was occasional 360p in handheld mode. The patch was reviewed by your source: http://www.eurogamer.net/amp/digitalfoundry-2018-does-the-new-doom-switch-patch-boost-performance

“What was discussed though is that there are only few exclusives at all, with like 3-4 actually good, and maybe one aimed for non jrpg gamer. who is looking for more adult theme. Adult like in Witcher 3, or Doom… but not ‘360p’ doom, please.”

“Switch is nice device, but badly under-powered. Mostly it is fine with first party exclusive titles, but that’s usually it.”

You complain about the lack of mature games, I present the mature content in the system, and you try to disprove them with a “they don’t count” argument because of resolution. Moving the goalpost, again.

  6. I responded to the statement that the Switch has many genres to cover, as you mentioned the “adult theme”, I presented games and you keep persisting on this.

“What was discussed though is that there are only few exclusives at all, with like 3-4 actually good, and maybe one aimed for non jrpg gamer. who is looking for more adult theme. Adult like in Witcher 3, or Doom… but not ‘360p’ doom, please.”

Read your post before talking nonsense.

    1. Bravo! you found ‘adult theme’ but now go back there again and focus on another difficult world, ‘exclusive’. With an ounce of good will you might be able to to combine them together and then maybe, MAYBE finally understand what was this discussion about.

  7. I had no idea this will be so difficult for you. Heavenshitman had no issue with understanding the topic, so maybe ask him to explain it to you? And, while reading, try to understand more than a single words without context? smh…

    1. Blah blah blah, you had 5 days to come with somewhat of an argument to sustain your flawed narrative and still tries to say I am not understanding it. Sad!

      1. Argument for what? For uneducated comment not related to topic?
You had 5 days to understand this thread. You failed miserably.

  8. Lol. Problem is, there were no questions. For some unknown reasons you started talking something about Nintendo being young platform, starting talking about something which already been closed and just totally misunderstood my point at the beginning, consequently refusing to put any effort in understanding previous points and playing Strawman by talking about areas which weren’t ever touched before.
I agree that you provided a list of some type, keep addressing bayonetta – same way as I did at the beginning, and I did not disprove Bayonetta – I simply said it is same IP so I won’t be listing it as separate titles, because it does not add any variety, but ofcourse you missed the point totally. And I did not say “Switch dont have mature games”. This is another strawman you trying to pull out either because you have difficulty understanding written word, or simply trying to lie hoping I wont call it out. But this would be too big effort to go to the first post in here, written by Warrior88, which set the scope of further discussion to understand what it was about? No, I’m sure that mere inconvenience called ‘facts’ and ‘topic of discussion’ won’t be enough to stop you.

And telling me that I’m trying to disprove JRPG’s? This is biggest strawman I seen ever. I mean, you have to be either stupid or blind, but rather stupid, to be so oblivious to information passed in written text. This single sentence show clearly that you wouldn’t survive a fall from a carpet to level of your IQ.

Anyway, yes, you are surely a sh* eater, and on top of that, a poor imitation of homo sapiens. But i guess being an idiot is probably a requirement to be a total fanboy.

    1. “For some unknown reasons you started talking something about Nintendo being young platform”

I will show to you, very didactically, so that you can finally understand what I was talking about since the beginning:

      Motive of my comment:
      “angh 24 days ago
Choice. There is simply not much choice.”

“Even for jRPGS’s there is much bigger choice of good jRPG on PC or PS4.”

And then, I made my first comment:

“PS4 is 4 years old, while the Switch is less than 2 years in the market. I wonder why the former has more games?”

      You responded with this:
“Knowing that i wonder why nintendo fanboys state opposite.”

Which I should have responded, “A random ‘nintendo fanboy’ statement does not change the fact that the Switch is a new platform, meaning it has less variety of games in genres than a platform with almost 5 years of content.”

Regarding other games aside from Mario Kart 8, which you said you do not like, there is V-Rally 4, Gear.Club Unlimited 1 & 2, Fast RMX and other racing games with “real” cars. Just do a research and find out.

      1. So much effort… if you put it in actually understand what was written we wouldn’t have this discussion. But that would be too difficult, I guess.

        But one more time.
I did not comment anything about how young N platform is, it is irrelevant.
        I did comment this one:
“Switch has a boat of exclusives, which I won’t list…”
        to which I said:
“Even with all games, the AAA titles you can probably count on fingers. (And I do count Bayonetta as single IP). ”

simply to show that his statement was bit too wide and not true. It is not easy to list N exclusives, especially with AAA games. And in same post I did said the other games, which are smaller, are still strong point of N.

        Next comment was:
“So far regarding exclusives, Switch has quite a few genres covered.” – while listed just, like, 4 games – 2 jrpg, mario racing and a platform game.

This doesn’t mean’quite a few genres covered’. This mean ‘having presence’ in very small area with very specific and limited target.
And there where I said ‘choice’ and pointed out that having presence in a genre, and diversity in a genre makes a difference. To which I wrote among other sentences:

“And this is not being skeptical about the success. Switch is already a success. But this doesn’t mind there is a lot of great games to play with. There are a few great games, but really, just a few.”

To which you come up with:
“PS4 is 4 years old, while the Switch is less than 2 years in the market. I wonder why the former has more games?”

which is true, of course, and to which I said:
“Knowing that i wonder why nintendo fanboys state opposite.”
        BECAUSE someone has stated it:

        “heavenshitman1 Warrior88 • a month ago
Switch has a boat of exclusives, which I won’t list ”

and then someone took it personal and started with some strawman, without understanding the context, and trying to push discussion in area where it never was.

At no stage I was commenting, or discussing, anything except the statement of heavenshitman trying to boast how big N lineup is, where your comment on the presence of platform was more or less backing my statement. N have small lineup of AAA exclusive games, and yes, partially because it is only less than 2 years on market. Nothing wrong with that as well. Those are simple facts, but the discussion started with one person trying to make those few titles pretending to cover ‘quite a few’ instead ‘only a few’ genres covered, and then stating it is the best in genre, which is more or less: you have to play this game, it is best game, and you don’t need anything else… and we got to understanding, look at his last post below. to which I have nothing to add, as he is stating his point of view and that’s perfectly fine.

And after you coming up with ‘strawman’ out of the blue I had no reason anymore to explain something one by one to someone who at beginning starts with such allegations.
