Kingdom Hearts 3 feature

Kingdom Hearts 3 PC could happen, Square Enix trying to get as many games to as many different platforms

In around two weeks, Square Enix will release the PC version of Final Fantasy XV. According to the team, a PC version of Final Fantasy XV was considered right from the start, however, there is another Square Enix triple-A game that is currently under development. That game is Kingdom Hearts 3 (Square Enix is also working on FF7Remake but this has already been confirmed was already hinted for the PC). And while Kingdom Hearts 3 has only been announced for PS4 and Xbox One, we may actually see it on the PC after its console release.

As Square Enix’s technical director and lead programmer, Takeshi Aramaki, told RPS, the publisher is currently aiming to bring as many titles to as many different platforms as possible.

“I think the rule of the company, the strategy, has very much moved in the direction of trying to get as many of our games out on as many different platforms as possible to reach as many different players as possible, so I think you’ll definitely be seeing a lot more platforms and a lot more broader release of games in the future.”

What ultimately this means is that Square Enix may consider bringing Kingdom Hearts 3 to our platform too. After all, Kingdom Hearts 3 has been in development for a long time and is perhaps the only SE game that has not been announced for the PC. Not only that, but we are certain that the publisher will undoubtedly want to release the game on as many platforms as possible (in order to cover the costs of its huge development cycle). Also, the game is using Unreal Engine 4 so a PC version should, theoretically, be a simpler task than Final Fantasy XV PC.

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’re hearing about Kingdom Hearts 3 coming to the PC. Back in July 2017, Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura claimed that Square Enix will consider bringing it to other platforms.

So yeah, while this isn’t a solid confirmation of a PC version for Kingdom Hearts 3, it’s a bit obvious that the publisher will consider it. And if Final Fantasy XV PC is a commercial success, we are almost certain that this new Kingdom Hearts game will, eventually, find its way to our platform!

    1. fixed, it was hinted (first on Playstation. Square Enix is working closely with Sony so it will most likely come to the PC too, similarly to what happened with Street Fighter V). It has not been confirmed though.

  1. It also helps that both KH3 and FFVII Remake utilize Unreal Engine 4…. But as for their general strategy, quite sound. And if they keep inching away from Denuvo, even better.

Just give us your games without extra crutches and I’m sure we’ll be golden.

  2. i dont care at all for FF but kingdom hearts 3 is day one buy for me! I played 1 and 2 on PC with pcsx2 emulator and the psp ones with psp emulator. glad that finaly i will play it the way it meant to be played(real pc version)

  3. LOL PC gamers gotta beg for those great games. Like this, RDR, RDR 2, Last of Us, Days Gone, Uncharted, Bloodborne…etc. At least you guys got star citizen…aka No Man’s Sky 2.

    1. Well luckily The Last of Us will be playable on PC via emulation
      RDR same with that one

RDR 2 that may show up we don’t really know

Same with Uncharted at least 1-3 and everything except 4

    2. “Lol, people don’t want to be forced to buy a new system they don’t need to play a game, what losers!”

  4. If they are like Square Enix’s pathetic current PC releases from the last 5 years then, no thanks keep it to yourselves unless you give a crap enough to do it right. Instead of the awful level of uneven design choices in said ports and incredible level of inconsistency from one release to the next.
