GameInformer will feature Metro: Exodus in its March cover and a new screenshots of 4A Games’ upcoming shooter have surfaced. These brand new screenshots showcase some of the game’s environments alongside various characters.
Metro Exodus promises to be an epic, story-driven first person shooter that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. Players will explore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line that spans an entire year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter.
Inspired by the internationally best-selling novels Metro 2033 and Metro 2035 by Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Exodus continues Artyom’s story in the greatest Metro adventure yet. The game is currently planned for a 2018 release.
Enjoy!

Really hoping this turns out as good as the last 2 Metros. I love the Metro series.
i hope its open world because the story in the last 2 games was meh.
This game has always looked beautiful from the beginning, and these screens are gorgeous to say the least.
I’m pretty sure this new PC title is going to be highly demanding on the PC hardware as well, depending on how well the DEVs manage to optimize this Game, since it using the same “4A Engine”.
Though, I think this engine doesn’t fully support the DX12 API, but this isn’t a big deal, since there are many other features in this game engine.
I really enjoyed playing the REDUX version of the previous METRO series (2033/Last Light). First person shooters FTW, lol.
.
metal cuck
Screenshots are very compressed, but even with compression I can tell game will look amazing. For example that scene with train interior and kid is highly detailed
Hope they can deliver
Teh question is will this be laughably unoptimized like the others? Redux runs well on a 1080 sure but still.
I’m referring more to the original and how it was impossib le to run it beyond like 3 fps when it was new, because it was way too advanced. Redux generally runs fine at ultra super mega though.
Metro 2033? Besides the too intensive to be worth it at the time DX11 Depth of Field option (which did indeed look amazing), it was really well optimized.
“Laughably unoptimized”?
Both Metro titles and especially the Redux versions look and run like a dream.
you obviously didnt play either
I obviously played both, OG and Redux versions. On 9600 GT, GTX 260, 280X, 560 Ti, 540M and Intel HD 520.
Compare this to fallout 4, how detailed the enviroments look, how unique and lived, how the weapons look, now look at fallout 4, look at the character and look at this game….this is what fallout should have been since fallout 3.
I would actually blame Bethesda for the “Creation Engine” used in Fallout 4, which was just based on the previous Gamebryo engine’s codebase, without giving enough room for improvement to the technology behind the engine.
But FO4 doesn’t look THAT bad, as many complain about. This game has been kind of a mixed bag though, imo.
Some of the graphical MODS do make the game look nice, but the engine is still a bit unoptimized.
An ‘updated’ version of ‘Creation engine’ was indeed used in FO4, but the game graphics don’t do that much justice, could have been much more better (especially the facial animations, draw distance).
SKYRIM also used this engine, but when it came to FO4, the engine was still just an iteration of the existing code base, which isn’t a bad thing, but Bethesda Game Studios don’t give that much importance to new TECH.
They focus mostly on Games, at least that’s what I personally think.
the problem isnt the graphics the problem is that bethesda just sucks at making fallout. Compare enviroments in stalker with fallout 4.
Aside from Texture quality and character models, Fallout 4 on ultra looks quite good.
Skyrim came out the same year as Crysis 2. I’m pretty sure when it comes to graphics Bethesda has a low priority on it.
At the same time, Fallout 4 is a huge open world with a lot of AI going on all the time and a lot of objects having physics properties.
Metro is a series of mostly small corridors with a few small open spaces here and there, there are generally around 5 enemies max at any given point and very few object with physics properties.
I’m not defending Fallout 4 (it’s a garbage engine to be honest) and Metro is incredibly well optimized on PC and consoles for what it is, but the differences in approaches to gameplay between the games needed to be stated.
And Bethesda is one of the largest and most well established developer studios with massive budgets.
They don’t have an excuse for FO4 being such garbage.
True
em unpopular opinion but I wouldn’t call Metro “optimized”.
Its requirements are ridiculous for what is shows on screen. Also add its almost non existent graphics settings you can change.
I would. I mean the games do look ridiculously good
Crysis looks better than Metro and runs far better.
AC Unity is gorgeous but ran like sh*t.
Debatable if Crysis looks on the whole better than Metro 2033/Redux.
Fair enough I guess people have different taste.
You can’t be serious ?
Fallout 4 is a completely different game to this.
Looks close to the first game!
I finished the first game (redux) for the first time months ago; it was surprisingly fun, on hardcore mode at least.
Yea and not in a positive way in some parts – that pic of the cars just reminds me of that awful bad level with Bourbon.
MASTERPIECE INCOMING HOPEFULLY THEY PROTECT IT WELL FROM FILTHY PIRATES
The rise of piracy and the rise of software sales on PC go in-tandem. Piracy is statistically not doing any harm at all to the “AAA” industry. Study up before you talk, little man
Ignore him/her…That user is just a troll for sure.
STOP TALKING BS YOU FILTHY PIRATE THE ONE WHO DOESN’T BUY THE GAME DOESN’T DESERVE TO PLAY TYPICAL PIRATE RESPONSE

I loved Metro: 2033 and Last Light ALOT. I hope this game lives up to their standards.
I still can’t max this game out in 4k on my ti, close though.
