Sandfall and Kepler Interactive have released a new trailer for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. This trailer dives deep into Gustave’s backstory and reveals the personal stakes that drive him forward.
This trailer marks the first in a series of videos that will introduce players to the courageous allies they will soon stand beside them.
Each character in Expedition 33 has their own story, motivation, and emotional arc that players can look forward to discovering when the game launches on April 24. Alongside their own skill trees and powerful weapons to discover, each character also has a unique combat mechanic to master in their mission to destroy the Paintress.
In today’s trailer, fans can discover more about Gustave (voiced in English by Charlie Cox and in French by Alexandre Gillet), an engineer who has dedicated his life to the city of Lumière’s defense and agricultural systems. As an Expeditioner, he devotes his final year of life to defeating the Paintress and reclaiming a future for Lumière’s children.
New trailers featuring additional party members will release regularly in the run up to the game’s launch next month.
For those unaware, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG in which players will have real-time actions at their disposal. According to the devs, these real-time actions will enhance the heart of the turn-based combat.
Players will be able to craft unique builds for their Expeditioners that fit their playstyle via gear, stats, skills, and character synergies. Moreover, they will be able to dodge, parry, and counter in real time, chain combos by mastering attack rhythms, and target enemy weak points using a free aim system.
Kepler Interactive will release Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on April 24th. You can also find its official PC system requirements here.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
