As we’ve already reported, Battlefield 5 will be a new Battlefield in a new setting. It will be a brand new experience however it will still retain everything that people loved about Battlefield.

The game will feature a single-player campaign in the form of War Stories. As such, gamers will play different characters in multiple stories.

Furthermore, DICE has promised that there will be various gameplay changes, and these changes will be showcased at the game’s official reveal event on May 23rd!

      1. When they spke about Battlefield V with SP war stories…it was alredy 100x better that POS Black Ops 4

    1. I dismissed this as too difficult. why give away an entire setting in a teaser?

Alternate history WW2 (Man in the high castle style)?

      Multiple settings?

      1. A Man in the High Castle-type thing could have interesting results on the Campaign front (maybe), but ultimately the temporal setting itself would still result in a similar end-product as any other World War II shooter.

I mean, if you set it in the 1940s, you need to use 1940s technology. If you set it in the 1960s (like Man in the High Castle), you need to use 1960s technology, etc. regardless of what the setting ultimately is, or is not.

        1. Well, there’s a bit of a Neo-Nazi problem going around these days, so I wouldn’t be sad if swastikas were sanitized. Without swastikas even, you still recognize the faction as Germans, yes?

          1. So what? If you’re going to do a game based on a real war, adapt it accurately or not at all. If you’re afraid of the “Neo N*zi” problem the media is routinely b*tching about these days, then don’t do a World War 2 game at all.

“Real life issues”, perceived, real, or otherwise, are no excuse for rewriting or sanitising history. Especially not decades after the fact.

  1. You can say is WW2 because “different battle settings” and WW2 had many different Battlefields.

    1. The most recent EA game I bought is Burnout Paradise, the original one, then I stopped buying games build around DLCs

    2. eh, just buy the game play it for a while (up to 24 hours)
      and then refund it
pick it up 2 years later when it’s actually finished with all the DLC’s for meager shekels

there is literally 0 reasons to buy this full price on launch

  2. Ill wait before i purchase it. If it has Battleships, subs, (i guess naval combat) and the gameplay of BF4+1942 but also improved = Ill get it in a heart beat. Even if its costing alot.

But this is EA and we are in 2018.. of course it will suck and it will be a lootbox crapfest.

  3. meh! just another consololow centric junk with moronic suppression mechanic intended to make causuals with sh1ty aim feel equal.. definitely i’l skip this one too xD
