YouTube’s ElAnalistaDeBits has shared a comparison video between the original version and the upcoming remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. This video will give you a glimpse at most of the visual improvements that the remake brings to the table.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will be powered by the latest version of the Anvil Engine. The game will support Dolby Atmos and Ray Tracing. According to Ubisoft, we’ll get RTGI and reflections. These are the exact same features for which Ubisoft used RT in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. So, the PC ray-traced version may look noticeably better than what we see in this video.
Ubisoft has rebuilt combat for more dynamic encounters, emphasizing parries and takedowns. Moreover, stealth and parkour have been improved for smoother escapes and assassinations. Players will be able to continuously upgrade the Jackdaw to face powerful enemy ships with enhanced naval mechanics featuring new alternate fire modes.
As we can see in this comparison, the remake looks better than the original in pretty much everything. From the lighting to the environmental geometry and the character models, the remake looks better. Not only that, but the cut-scenes seem to be quite similar. There are a couple of new camera angles, but the scenes play exactly like they did in the original.
Basically, think of this remake as something like Oblivion Remastered. The game will play exactly the same as the original version. At the same time, it will benefit from the new visual techniques and the more detailed game assets that the devs have added.
What’s funny is that some people will notice minor changes in the remake and claim that it “destroys the artistic design.” That’s one of the most ridiculous claims I’ve seen lately being used for pretty much all remakes. In this case, the remake respects the original in almost every way. As I’ve said before, negativity drives views on social media, and certain accounts will do anything for clicks. That’s why you keep seeing negativity everywhere, no matter what.
In my opinion, this is exactly the remake all Black Flag fans have been asking for. If you are one of them, you will love what you’ll see in the video. Plain and simple.
Ubisoft will release Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on July 9th. To the surprise of no one, the game will also have Denuvo. Additionally, it will require a Ubisoft account. Finally, you can find the game’s official PC requirements here.
