Doom 4 feature

2012 Concept Trailer leaked for Doom 4’s canceled “Call of Duty” version

A new concept trailer from the canceled version of Doom 4 has surfaced online. This is a more action-packed trailer, showcasing some of the enemies that this “Call of Duty” Doom game would feature.

Doom 4 would originally take place on Earth, and featured gameplay mechanics similar to those of the Call of Duty games. However, during development, id Software felt that this was the wrong direction, and decided to cancel it. And, to be honest, I’m glad about that decision. After all, Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal are two truly fantastic Doom games.

The first leak for this canceled Doom 4 game happened back in 2015. Back then, numerous screenshots surfaced from a behind-the-scenes trailer. Then, in 2020, new footage surfaced from that old version of Doom 4 (that video is no longer available). And then, in 2022, we got three new screenshots from it.

To be honest, the initial CG trailer looked really interesting. However, the in-engine screenshots, as well as this latest trailer, do not look that interesting. Seriously, there were moments I thought I was watching RAGE instead of Doom 4.

Anyway, those interested can go ahead and watch the trailer. Also kudos to our reader “Wyatt” for bringing this to our attention!
