Valve has released a new and improved beta version of Steam Play that allows Linux gamers to play Windows titles. Netherlands Loot Box Ban Affects CS:GO and DOTA 2 Players

I think many might have seen this one coming. On the 19th of June, Valve issued a statement to all Counter Strike: Global Offensive and DOTA 2 players in the Netherlands that they will no longer be able to purchase online loot boxes since it is now officially against a ruling issued by the Dutch Kansspelautoriteit (translates as Gaming Authority). Steam will end official Windows XP and Windows Vista support on January 1st, 2019

Valve has announced that Steam will officially stop supporting the Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems on January 1st, 2019. What this basically means is that the Steam Client will no longer run on those versions of Windows after that date and as such you won’t have access to your older games that could – theoretically – still run on these operating systems. Modder ‘TheTurretTheo’ has released a brand new version of his Half-Life 2: Episodes – Beta Collection mod for Half-Life 2: Episode Two. According to its description, Half-Life 2: Episodes – Beta Collection is a collection of beta maps for the Half-Life episodes, including Episode 1, 2 and Junction Point’s cancelled episode.
