Remember Skyrim Online? Yeap, that amazing mod that offered online functionality to Bethesda’s RPG? Well, good news as the team behind it has released a new video that showcases the chat system, and what players can actually see (people running and walking around with most of the equipment they are wearing). Furthermore, both gender and face morth are synced in the latest version of the mod. This is a really promising mod, so kudos to the team for their work. We bet that a lot of you are wondering how current-generation engines compare to the upcoming, next-generation version of the Unreal Engine, right? Well, time to find out. In this special feature, we compare Crysis 2’s (CryEngine 3) and Skyrim’s engine (the Creation engine) with Epic’s Unreal Engine 4. Although there aren’t similar assets to compare with, we put together screenshots with almost identical scenes. We should also note that for the ‘particles test’ comparison, we used a Crysis shot with an extreme particles mod that is beyond anything we’ve ever seen. We decided to also include a video from this mod, so make sure to watch it and notice how all those sparks are bouncing around without hitting the framerate. So, what do you think? Modder ‘newermind43’ released an amazing, early version of his ‘The Dinosaurus Era’ mod for Skyrim. This mod currently features 6 new creatures and as you may have guessed, new dinosaurs will be added in newer versions of it. Modder ‘Osmodius’ released a must-have mod for Skyrim. As its title suggests, Project Parallax adds parallax mapping to most of the game’s textures. Since DX11 and tessellation are not supported, Parallax Mapping is the best way to offer a better terrain and this mod accomplishes just that. Only Whiterun is enhanced at the moment but the modder promised to release new versions of his mod that will enhance all the other cities. Therefore, each and every week the modder will release a new version that will have parallax mapping for a new city. Boris Vorontsov has been hard at work lately with the 0.110 version of his ENBSeries mod for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. In this new version, Boris will introduce some new shadow techniques that look amazing. In order to showcase some first results, Boris has shared some videos that compare the original shadows with his tweaked ones. We’ve said a lot of times that mods can literally change the look of a game. And you do know that there are a lot of mods for Skyrim, right? Well, nothing have prepared you for the following video that showcases some pretty amazing visuals. YouTube’s member ‘MrRhexx’ used the realistic setting from cinemascope combined with the cinematic settings from cinematic ENB mod – that work wonderfully together – and captured some footage of Skyrim. The end result is unbelievable and could very well be mistaked as a CGI footage. MrRhexx also used the Daedric Reaver Armor and the footage is from a scene taken from Chronicles of a Sad Story 3. There is no doubt that Skyrim looks great. And here we are today with some new drooling images, as modders ‘gionight’ and ‘Unr3al2004’ have released some screenshots from their Skyrim custom female characters. These female models look great and showcase what can be achieved with Skyrim’s in-game toolset.
