This is pretty amazing. YouTube’s member ‘samothethief’ is making a mod for Sonic Generations PC with which he plans to port the Sonic Unleashed stages to SEGA’s latest Sonic game. Remember when we stated that Sonic 4: Episode 1 would be coming to the PC? As we said back then, Steam’s registry does not lie and look and behold; SEGA has just announced that both Episode 1 and 2 will be coming to our beloved platform later this year. But wait, there is more; Sonic CD will also hit the PC today. According to SEGA, the launch of Sonic Generations on the PC was quite successful and as a result of that, the company decided to port all the latest Sonic games. Hooray! Back in the 32bit days, Sonic X-Treme was meant to drive Saturn sales to new heights. Unfortunately, SEGA decided to cancel the game as it was not up to the Sonic standards. That didn’t seem enough though, as fans decided to recreate this cancelled Saturn game on the PC. So, Sonic fans, meet Project AXSX. Great news for Sonic fans as our beloved blue hedgehog will return in 2012 with the second episode of Sonic 4. Now we know that some of you were disappointed with its first episode, however, Episode 2 promises to fix all those issues that plagued its predecessor. Therefore, it will come with a new graphics and physics engine, Tails will be playable and Metal Sonic will make a return. Sounds promising, right? Now here is something really interesting. We’ve just found out that the Steam Registry has an entry for SEGA’s Sonic game, Sonic 4 – Episode 1, and you can view a screenshot from it bellow. We all pretty much know that this is an indication of Episode 1’s PC version, as the same thing happened and with Sonic Generations. In case you don’t remember, the Sonic Generations’ PC version was first hinted via Steam’s Registry so there is no denying that Sonic 4 – Episode 1 is coming to the PC. SEGA has just announced that the Casino Night Pinball DLC for the PC version of Sonic Generations will hit Valve’s distribution service on December 26th. This DLC gives players a pinball mini game, set in the Casino Night stage, to enjoy alongside the main game. The Casino Night Pinball DLC will cost USD $1.59, GBP £0.99, EUR €1.59, AUD $2.99. Okay, I’ll be honest here; I’m really surprised by SEGA’s support for the PC version of Sonic Generations. Normally, I wouldn’t expect any post-launch support from SEGA, but Sonic Generations PC was released one week ago, and there have already been two updates for it. It’s a miracle – and ironic at the same time provided that Sonic was the mascot for all of SEGA’s consoles – as the company is offering the best version of Sonic’s latest adventures to our beloved platform.
