Nvidia has released some new drivers for its graphics cards today. According to the release notes, this new set of drivers offers 23% better performance in a variety of games for GeForce 400/500/600 series GPUs. Basically, this is the GeForce Game Ready driver for SimCity, StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, Resident Evil 6, and Hawken with PhysX. Ironically, though, there is no mention about any performance improvements or enhancements regarding Tomb Raider. Now that’s more like it; after the amazing tressfx technique that was unveiled a while back by AMD, we kind of wondered what Nvidia’s next move would actually be. And it seems that the green team will be working closely with Epic Games for ‘something’. That, or Epic Games is teasing some new PC technique (that will be supported by both Nvidia and AMD). Point is that ‘something’ is coming on the PC frontier by Epic Games, and it seems that Nvidia was impressed with it. Crysis 3 has already been unlocked on various regions and Nvidia decided to take advantage of this launch in order to officially unveil its latest high-end single GPU called Titan. GeForce GTX Titan is based on the GK110 chip and provides performance similar to the GTX 690. Okay, the GTX 690 still has an advantage over the Titan but the key point here is that the Titan is a single card whereas the GTX 690 is a dual card. Nvidia has released an announcement video for this card, and it is rumored that the Titan will cost around $900. Continue reading Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan Officially Revealed→

I really love this kind of videos. YouTube’s “PerfectHandVideos” has created an amazing retrospective video, showcasing the evolution of real-time PC graphics. This video shows off some of the benchmark tools and video-games that were released from 2000 to 2012, and even though we’re talking about a 2-hour video, we highly recommend watching it. Who can forget the Matrix scene from 3D Mark 2001? Or the Nature benchmark that showcased an Oblivion-like environment, something that most of us thought impossible at that time. So grab your pop-corn and off you go! Continue reading Retrospective Video – The Evolution Of Real-Time PC Graphics→
Nvidia has released a new video, showcasing the PhysX effects that are present in the F2P action mech title, Hawken. This video also demonstrates a soon-to-come PhysX feature in Hawken: APEX Turbulence. APEX Turbulence is a PhysX feature which uses velocity fields to simulate particle motion. Question now is whether Hawken takes advantage of PhysX 3.0 or not, and whether those PhysX effects will bring the game to its knees. Hawken is powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 and those interested can sign-up (and download its client) from its official website. Enjoy! But because it offers you the ability to play your PC games on it.
