Ah, Minecraft. Such a lovely game. Yes, we know a lot of people that adore it, as well as people that hate it. Despite that, Mojang’s unique title has managed to hit another milestone today, as more than 10 million copies have been sold on PC and Mac. This is revealed by the stat counter at the game’s official website, a counter that keeps on rising and rising. In fact, it feels like a mini-game guessing what the exact number of those sold copies will be after a couple of minutes. Go ahead, try it; you’ll be surprised how fun it can get. Minecraft is a killer app, we already knew that. What’s interesting though is that the game’s sales are not slowing down at all. According to its official site, the PC version of Minecraft has sold over 9 million copies. Guess PC gaming is not dead after all, right? Nevertheless, it’s also astonishing how successful Minecraft, a game with low system requirements, can actually be. New footage for Notch’s Firefly/Elite Hybrid Space Sim, 0x10c

Markus ‘Notch’ Persson has released a new video for his upcoming Firefly/Elite Hybrid Space Sim, 0x10c. 0x10c will take place in a hard science fiction world and will feature lots of engineering, a fully working computer system, space battles against the AI or other players, abandoned ships full of loot. Players will also be able to seamlessly land on planets and there will be an advanced economy system. There will also be random encounters, as well as mining, trading, and looting. Enjoy! First Footage For Mojang’s “0x10c” Released

Markus ‘Notch’ Persson has released the first footage of Mojang’s upcoming game, 0x10c. This is a WIP footage, and does not show much, apart from some physics, bobbing, and guns. 0x10c is said to take place in a hard science fiction world and will feature lots of engineering, a fully working computer system, space battles against the AI or other players. Minecom 2012 Announced

Mojang and Markus ‘Notch’ Persson have announced Minecom 2012. This year, the company is bringing Minecom to Europe (Paris will be the exact location) and ticket sales and hotel registration will start in the next few weeks. Minecraft Extreme Graphics Achieved With Sonic Ether’s Unbelivable Shaders

Neogaf user ‘Nibel’ spotted an amazing mod for Minecraft that updates the game’s graphics. This mod adds shaders to Minecraft in a post-process manner that simulate different effects that occur in the real-world in how light reacts with objects and with the human eye. This mod also adds dynamic movement to flora and fire. With this mod, Minecraft looks awesome and we highly recommend it. You can find below some screenshots, a video and its download link.
