SEGA has released two new PAX Prime 2012 screenshots for Gearbox’s upcoming aliens game, Aliens: Colonial Marines. In addition, Randy Pitchford told Kotaku that the game will feature female characters. After the online controversy about this subject – and an online petition – Randy confirmed that the multiplayer mode will feature a whole range of both male and female characters, all of which can be customized. 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that Borderlands 2 will offer four brand new add-on content campaigns following the release of Borderlands 2 for X360, PS3 and PC. These four add-on content campaigns will each feature several hours of gameplay and introduce new adventures, allies, enemies and environments. SEGA Europe and Gearbox Software today announced Escape mode, a new competitive multiplayer mode, for its highly anticipated blockbuster Aliens: Colonial Marines video game, launching February 12, 2013 worldwide. With a competitive death match game mode already revealed earlier in the year, Escape mode is the second in a number of competitive multiplayer modes for Aliens: Colonial Marines and will challenge players in an intense scenario against the universe’s deadliest killers, the Xenomorph. 2K Games has released a new trailer for Borderlands 2, that showcases Gamestop’s pre-order exclusive bonus content. Borderlands 2’s Creature Slaughter Dome tasks players with facing waves of Pandora’s creatures in an arena. Players will gain experience and gear, and they’ll be able to bring their gained loot back into the main game. Now this is a really promising mod for Borderlands. YouTube’s member ‘nolahornets394’ has released an interesting mod for Borderlands, called PokeBL. As the name suggests, players can capture animals with this mod and ‘call’ them while they’re fighting. This package includes custom pokeball grenade mods for 10 different Skag variants, with the “Mutt” seen in the following video being a Corrosive/Fire/Shock hybrid skag. Nvidia has released a new video in which they showcase the PC version of Borderlands 2. According to the company, Borderlands 2 supports PhysX and in this video, you will notice that the game includes an incredible number of particle debris that practically blow up in your face. Creatures, such as the Crystalisk, spew liquids that are live fluid particles and are interactive with the force of explosions. Moreover, many weapons include particle fluids, sparks and debris that add extra explosive action to your gaming experience. Borderlands 2 is available September 18th. Gearbox has unveiled the third episode of its behind-the-scenes videos for Aliens: Colonial Marines, in which the company’s members talk about the story and tension that will be present in this new Aliens game. Aliens: Colonial Marines is currently planned for a 2013 release on PC, X360 and PS3. Fans of the Aliens movie will be able to see places they are familiar with and according to Randy Pitchford, players who survive an aliens wave and beat them will feel really badasses.
