Euclideon Releases New Video, Showing Off Solidscan – New Tech Included In Unlimited Detail Engine

Euclideon has released a new video, showing off a new tech that is being supported in its ‘Unlimited Detail’ engine and is called Solidscan. According to the team, Solidscan takes an ordinary laser scan and enriches its resolution by around 200 to 1000 times. The data then compresses down, and runs in Euclideon’s Unlimited Detail engine, using Unlimited detail’s streaming system, resulting in loading scenes in less than a second. It’s been almost a year since our last look on the Euclideon ‘Unlimited Detail’ engine. Unfortunately, the team has not come up with a game yet, however it has released a new tech video for this particular engine. As the team claims, it has spent the last year building technology that overcomes all the loading and memory problems that happen when you use terabytes in places where people would normally use megabytes, and this video is the end result of those efforts. One year ago, Euclideon claimed that they have found a way to offer amazing graphics and astounding detail to current generation games. After its bold statements, the studio disappeared and re-appeared today with a brand new video that showcases their new game engine.
