The Secret World’s Launch pushed slightly back, Beta Weekend roadmap revealed

Funcom today announced that the company has made a small adjustment to the release date for The Secret World. Due to market reasons, the ship date has been moved by two weeks to July 3rd, with Early Access starting June 29th. The new launch date places The Secret World in a more positive launch window which will benefit the launch of the game. Mass Effect 3: Rebellion Pack unleashes on May 29th and will be completely FREE

Electronic Arts announced the next downloadable content pack for Mass Effect 3 that will be shortly available for download.  Mass Effect 3: Rebellion Pack will be available to download at no additional charge – if you have bought/activated an online pass – and will add two brand-new maps, a new team objective and a new equipment slot to the game’s critically-acclaimed cooperative experience. The Mass Effect 3: Rebellion Pack will also introduce new unlockable characters, including the Vorcha, ex-Cerberus operatives and Male Quarians. Also available are all new weapons and items that can be obtained through reinforcement packs in the game’s multiplayer store. Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances Launched

Good news for all Command & Conquer fans, as the browser-based game ‘Tiberium Alliances’ has been launched. Tiberium Alliances is developed by the EA-owned German RTS studio Phenomic that was responsible for SpellForce, BattleForge and Lord of Ultima, and you can view below some launch screenshots and trailer. Crysis 2 MaLDoHD Texture Pack – New Screenshots from the latest version

Modder MaLDo has released some new screenshots for the upcoming version of his amazing Crysis 2 Texture Pack. MaLDo has added some new stone walls, fixed some issues in the Terminal level, and added new textures for the burned trees and marble floor in Terminal level. Medal of Honor: Warfighter World Premiere TV Trailer

As promised, Electronic Arts have released the world premiere TV trailer for Medal of Honor: Warfighter. Inspired by actual events across the globe and written by real Tier 1 Operators while deployed overseas, follow the global Warfighters as they are asked to take on a real terror threat, PETN. Crysis 3 – Six New Artworks Unveiled

E3 is just around the corner and Electronic Arts have revealed six new artworks for Crytek’s upcoming FPS, Crysis 3. Powered by Crytek’s in-house engine, CryENGINE 3, Crysis 3 advances the state of the art with unparalleled visuals and dynamic shooter gameplay. Players take on the role of ‘Prophet’ as he returns to New York, only to discover that the city has been encased in a Nanodome created by the corrupt Cell Corporation. Crysis Revival 3.42 Mod for Crysis 2 Released

Modder rGOt has released a new version of his mind-blowing Crysis Revival mod for Crysis 2. This mod adopts the environment of Crysis 1 (destructible environment, vegetation touch bending) while keeping the newest technology of the CryEngine 3 (DX11, Texture HD, detail bump mapping, tesselation, Parallax occlusion mapping). The new version of Crysis Revival features extended map, Boids (turtles, crabs…), News vegetation with touch bending (dynamique foliage), New particles, New nano parameters, Decrease in the size of the weapon, News camera movements (first person), Cutscenes, and New ocean effects. The Secret World – Second Beta Weekend Starts This Friday

Funcom announced that the next Beta Weekend for its upcoming modern-day massively multiplayer online game ‘The Secret World’ will start on May 18th at 9am PDT / 6pm CET and run until Sunday May 20th at 11.59pm PDT / May 21st 8.59am CET. During this Beta Weekend players get to pick up where they left off with the same character they played during the first Beta Weekend, as they get to meet all-new characters in Kingsmouth each with their own unique missions and storylines. You know what? Specular and diffuse maps are perhaps the cleverest things we’ve ever seen in the gaming industry. In case you were unaware of, specular and diffuse maps are usely applied when light is being casted on various textures. Ironically, they are also those that have kept us behind this whole time, as most developers use detailed specular and diffuse maps to ‘hide’ their blurry and low-resolution textures. This can be easily noticed even in Crysis, especially when there is no light to hide the textures of those, infamous rocks.
