Our reader ‘Ghost Rider LSOV’ shared with us a hilarious bug from Battlefield 4’s beta that turned the Siege of Shanghai map into an underwater city. According to ‘EmotionaltroutHD’ who captured it, this bug started at checkpoint A when walking downstairs. The player could not shoot and the bug continued even after being killed and re-spawned. Obviously DICE will sort it out, though it will be a great easter egg to turn this map into an underwater city, don’t you think? DICE has released a new update for the PC Open Beta of Battlefield 4, that aims to address the performance issues that most gamers were experiencing on Windows 7. According to DICE’s Johan Andersson, the people that had issues were running Win7 & quad & six cores without HT primarily. Battlefield 4 – Next OpenBeta Patch Will Offer CPU Optimizations, Win8 + DX11.1 Still Best Option
Johan Andersson, Technical Director on Frostbite at DICE, revealed – just a minutes ago – that the open beta build of Battlefield 4 will get a new patch that will come with some CPU optimizations. As Johan claimed, performance will be improved on Windows 7, however the ‘Win8 + DX11.1’ will still be the better option for those who want to enjoy DICE’s upcoming shooter. AMD clarifies: Mantle is not AMD’s CUDA, Microsoft was well aware of its existence
Another day, another Mantle article. A couple of days ago, French website Hardware interviewed AMD’s Raja Koduri who shared some interesting information about the red team’s upcoming API. According to Raja, Microsoft was well aware of the existence of Mantle. You’ve got to love PR marketing. Earlier last week, AMD revealed Mantle. As the red team hinted during its AMD event, Mantle would be compatible with AMD’s GPUs. Despite some websites claiming that this API will be open to other graphics manufacturers, it was recently revealed that Mantle will require cards based on AMD’s GCN architecture to work.
