Okay, I’m pretty sure that both AMD and DICE have been misleading people on purpose these past weeks regarding Mantle. That, or they decided to ditch Mantle’s GCN-architecture requirement, something that seems highly unlikely. During AMD’s Developer Summit, Johan Andersson confirmed that Mantle is not tied to AMD’s GCN architecture, meaning that there isn’t such requirement. YouTube’s member ‘Zurvv’ has posted a video, featuring the 15 first minutes of Battlefield 4’s SP campaign and showcasing what DICE’s shooter looks like with Ultra setting at 4K resolution. Zurvv used four Titans in order to run BF4 at 3840×2160. Battlefield 4 Gets A Day-One Update On The PC

DICE has released a day-one update for the PC version of Battlefield 4/Battlelog. According to its changelog, this update features various improvements for the PC in-game Battlelog, fixes an issue that caused a memory leak, removes the Cancel button for finished Missions, and makes “Play Now” for Squad Deathmatch and Domination to work as intended. Our reader ‘Ghost Rider LSOV’ has shared with us a new video, showcasing the spectacular Flood Zone map of Battlefield 4 Defuse Mode. This map was showcased in one of EA’s videos, however it’s the first time we get to see this map being played. Yesterday, Activision officially released the launch trailer of Call of Duty: Ghosts. So guess what Electronic Arts decided to do. That’s right. The big publisher has unveiled the single player story trailer of Battlefield 4 in order to steal COD’s thunder. Okay okay, Activision tried to steal BF4’s thunder in the first place by releasing Ghosts’ launch trailer almost two weeks prior to its official release, but let’s not focus on that.
