AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.7.1 is now available, fixes RX 480’s power issue

AMD has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.7.1 improves the Radeon RX 480’s power distribution, lowering the current drawn from the PCIe bus. In addition, this driver brings performance improvements for the Polaris architecture that yield performance uplifts in popular game titles of up to 3%. AMD responds to the controversy surrounding its Ashes of the Singularity benchmarks between 2XRX480 & GTX1080

A couple of days ago, AMD officially revealed the Radeon RX480. During its Computex livestream, AMD showcased a RX480 Crossfire system surpassing NVIDIA’s high-end GPU, the NVIDIA GTX1080. AMD Radeon RX480 officially announced, will be priced at $199, shows Crossfire surpassing GTX 1080

AMD’s senior vice president and chief architect, Raja Koduri, has officially announced the Radeon RX480. The AMD Radeon RX480 will be priced at $199 and will be available on June 29th, will sport over 5TFLOPS, features 36 CUs, offers 256GB/sec memory bandwidth, will come in two models (4GB and 8GB) and will be at 150W TDP.
