New screenshots & leaked gameplay video for Black Myth: Wukong

Game Science has launched the official Steam store page for Black Myth: Wukong, revealing a new set of screenshots for it. Moreover, a new video got leaked yesterday, showcasing 3 minutes of gameplay footage from it.

Black Myth: WuKong is a third-person game that is based on Journey to the West, and will focus on the Monkey King and his special abilities. Additionally, the game will offer players 72 different abilities to use.

The game currently targets a 2024 release date, and it will be taking advantage of Unreal Engine 5. Moreover, it will support Ray Tracing & DLSS 3 at launch.

Lastly, IGN has published its first hands-on preview video for this game. From what we can see, this video features gameplay segments that were also in the leaked gameplay video. So we can assume that the Black Myth: Wukong leaked video is from its recent preview event.

We expect Game Science to present a new gameplay trailer at Gamescom 2023 which will begin in a few days. Until then, enjoy these new screenshots for Black Myth: Wukong, and stay tuned for more!

  1. Poor woodlouse. At first, I thought this looked a bit too souls like, but the gameplay video shows it being a lot more fast-paced action/hack-and-slash style. The hit boxes look quite forgiving too. For me that’s a good thing.

  2. Fun fact :
    The guy who’s talking in the IGN video is the reason IGN is the butt of the jokes it is today.
    He’s the guy who would constantly give COD games 9s and 10s out of 10 back then (even to something like Ghost). I think he never gave any other game he reviewed more than a 5. If I’m not mistaken, he also gave alien isolation a 3 or 4.

  3. It’s kind of got that UI that makes it look like yet another souls-like game, but the actual gameplay seems too fast-paced to be categorized as such. It looks more like a stylish action game, such as DMC.
