Call of Duty WW2 Vanguard rumored to be significantly held back by old-gen consoles

Earlier this month, we informed you about a new rumor regarding Battlefield 6. So, time for some rumors about its direct rival, the Call of Duty series. According to Tom Henderson, a well-known Battlefield and Call of Duty leaker, Call of Duty WW2 Vanguard will be heavily held back by old-gen consoles.

COD Vanguard old-gen rumors

Furthermore, Henderson claims that Infinity Ward’s next game will also target old-gen and next-gen consoles.

What this basically means is that Battlefield 6 will offer better graphics and better tech features. On the other hand, Call of Duty will try to appeal to an even broader audience.

According to Henderson, Battlefield 2021 will support 128-player battles. On the other hand, we don’t know whether Call of Duty Vanguard will offer such a thing. Since COD Warzone features 100 players, we may also see 128-player battles in Vanguard.

It will be interesting to see whether COD Vanguard will outsell Battlefield 2021 on next-gen platforms.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Didnt that happen with advanced warfare and ghosts or black ops 3 or whatever?

Anyway? “vanguard” eh? Not to be confused with medal of honor vanguard.

sigh, i want a new moh game like the psx games.

    1. Ghosts and Advanced Warfare had that issue, but it was still an issue afterwards because every sequel from that until the Modern Warfare 2019 reboot was nothing but a slight upgrade over Ghosts even if they only released on Xbox One and PS4 they were still extremely limited due to the engine.
Their MO for years has been to have IW work on the engine and the other 2 studios (Treyarch and Sledgehammer) iterate on it yearly.

It is a cashcow after all, and that includes the game engine.

        1. That’s all there is to this game, but if you think about it , the game needs to be really slow pace for the player to bother looking at the enemy reaction at every shot he takes. It’s a gimmick.

  2. I haven’t played a call of duty or battlefield game in years. But im feeling sort of interested in the next Battlefield. I have hopes for it

        1. Resurgence is pretty good. The main game is boring as f*k. I really enjoy playing in 4k hdr on the 3080 it’s just mindblowing.

    1. Modern Warfare 2019 was pretty good. I used to buy every CoD up until BO2 then gave up once they introduced wall running. The multiplayer was 90% of what used to make it great and the campaign was actually worth a playthrough for the production value alone. The story was ghey AF though.

  3. woke culture is corrupting everything in english speaking world, the backlash the last time they did woke WW2 will be ignored.

    1. You should not play or support *ANY* Western media. Stop playing Western games. Stop watching Western media. You should only play Japanese games.

If you play Western games you are a pozzed SJW, simple as.

  4. last good cod campaign was infinite warfare, yeah everyone downvoted it because they didnt like the sci fi stuff but forget its cod and the campaign is decent. The rest of cod campaigns are meh, with mw2019 being ok while too serious and toned down in action and cold war being a giant mediocre meh.

Litteraly every cod campaign excluding black ops 3 is better than what we get now, i dont thing world at war was too hot either.

    1. The Modern Warfare 2019 campaign is pretty impressive but the story was ‘Star Wars sequel trilogy’ ghey. The butch muslim lady and the rebels with their anti-tank sniper rifle that the sand monkeys magically crafted was eye rolling bad writing.

  5. I love the WW2 setting but it will never be like the classic COD games. Full with pink mp40’s, nazi’s with clown outfits and 1000 unrealistic attachments for guns. I hope Battlefield will come with a good game but I doubt it.

    1. The gun camos looked so fckn terrible in the CoD4 remaster. I was angry at it only coming with the crazy expensive Infinite Warfare Deluxe version at the time, but the modern stuff they tacked on softened the blow.

  6. Well, CoD Ghosts, Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 3 were all cross-gen releases. Its Activision.
And 2021 CoD being a cross-gen title is a no brainer. It’ll only be a year into 9th gen when it’ll release.
And early current-gen CoD titles’ development usually starts from previous gen. So they move with the development accordingly.
Any CoD development starting in 2021, likely Treyarch’s next title should be the first next-gen only title.
Its that, I just hope/wish IW makes an exception and completely focuses on current-gen for MW’s sequel.

  7. Forget about old consoles, the real question is if the new COD will be held back by hard drive size. And honestly at this point i don’t care about new consoles and such. Graphics are good enough as it is, either provide a real reason for upgrade or shut up.
