Embark Studios has just released a new update for its free-to-play online combat-centered game, The Finals. According to the team, Title Update 1.5.5 comes with some balance tweaks for weapons and gadgets, crash fixes, and an improvement to tournament matchmaking. So, let’s now take a closer look at all the changes.
In The Finals, you team up with your friends to battle in virtual arenas that you can change, take advantage of, and even wreck. In this first-person shooter, you get to create your own way of playing to win big tournaments and become famous. Or at least that’s what the devs claim. The Finals also stands out as one of the few multiplayer games that lets you experience Ray Tracing Global Illumination. It also fully supports DLSS 3 Frame Generation. And while it doesn’t have FSR 3.0 support yet, PC players can use a mod to enable it.
Going into more details, this patch fixes an issue where certain GPUs would sometimes crash. As such, the game should be more stable now on PC. Moreover, this patch resolves an issue where crossplay settings would not be respected when the player was in a party. It also updates matchmaking configuration in Tournament and Ranked Tournament modes. This will help ensure closer matches by skill rating.
It’s also worth noting that Embark Studios has acknowledged that the Recon Senses ability for the Medium build needs an overhaul. The team claimed that it’s currently working on a fix that will come out next week. So that’s at least good news.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog. Oh, and here is a new trailer for it. So, be sure to watch it.
