STALKER 2 new feature

STALKER 2 Title Update 1.4.2 Released, Full Patch Notes

GSC GameWorld has released Title Update 1.4.2 for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this new update brings to the table.

Patch 1.4.2 mostly fixes a few bugs that plagued the game. It does not bring any performance improvements. Moreover, it does not overhaul the game’s A-Life system. In other words, this is a small update. Thus, you should temper your expectations. This isn’t the patch that will overhaul some of the game’s systems. Still, it’s better than nothing.

Update 1.4.2 brings a few helpful fixes to make the game better and smoother to play.

First, it fixes a problem with camera movement. Before, if you were playing with a gamepad and had a low framerate, the camera moved too slowly. Now, the camera sensitivity feels much better, even when the game isn’t running at high speeds.

Next, the update fixes a weird issue with mutants. Sometimes, when they were checking out a threat, they would shake or twitch in strange and unrealistic ways. That bug has been fixed, so their movements now look normal.

Finally, the update solves a problem with quick slots. Some players noticed that certain items, like food or other consumables, showed up as usable—even when they weren’t actually in their inventory. This caused confusion, but it’s now been fixed. Only the items you really have will appear in the quick slots.

Patch 1.4.2 also comes with one particular balance tweak. To be more precise, the update lowers armor piercing multiplier for 9×18 ammo. It also packs a couple quest fixes. You can find all of them at the end of the article.

In theory, this patch should be compatible with the various mods we’ve shared for STALKER 2. Thus, it should work with this mod which adds a Parkour-like climbing system to the game. It should also work with this mod that allows you to fast-travel anywhere on the map.

In December 2024, we shared a mod that allowed you to loot all mutants. This was a feature present in all previous STALKER games that was apparently cut from STALKER 2.

You can also download a mod that will remove the inventory carry/weight limit. I’m not a fan of this last mod, but hey, some of you may like it. Finally, have a mod that can further improve the game’s graphics, and enable GTAO.

Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below, you can also find its complete changelog. So, go ahead and take a look at it.

Stay tuned for more!
