Halo Studios has released the first update for the official remake of the first Halo game, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this first patch brings to the table.
This first patch, which I’ll be calling the July 29th Patch, is a small update that fixes a few bugs and issues. It’s not a major patch. As such, you should temper your expectations.
Going into more detail, the July 29 update improves stability on AMD graphics cards when using FSR with driver versions 26.6.2 or 26.6.4. The update fixes crashes that could happen when watching or skipping the opening cinematic in The Maw. It also improves stability during the Pillar of Autumn mission.
All PC versions will now display a warning when Halo: Campaign Evolved is launched with an AMD or NVIDIA GPU driver version that has known issues. XBOX Gamertags will also now display throughout the account linking process for Steam players.
The devs have stated that this patch comes with performance improvements to reduce hitching for players with large friends lists. If you have a small friend list, you won’t see any performance improvements. So, make sure to keep that in mind.
Jackals in the hangar hallway of The Truth and Reconciliation now patrol the area instead of standing still. A charged Plasma Pistol shot no longer kills players who have full health and shields, regardless of the difficulty level. The pair of Hunters near the entrance to the Cartographer on The Silent Cartographer now consistently attacks the player after moving into position.
Sadly, this patch does not add any in-game settings for Chromatic Aberration or Film Grain. It also does not enable local split-screen co-op on PC. Thankfully, there are mods for these issues, which you can download from here and here. Hopefully, they will be compatible with this latest version.
Like always, Steam and the Microsoft Store will download this update the next time you launch their clients. Below, you can also find its full patch notes.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
