Bethesda released today the first post-launch update for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this first update brings to the table.
Patch 1.1 fixes some bugs that plagued the game. Moreover, it resolves a lot of crashes. As such, Oblivion Remastered will now be more stable on your PC system.
Title Update 1.1 fixes crashes that could occur while loading Quicksaves. It also resolves crashes that could happen when creating multiple potions at once using stolen ingredients. The devs have also fixed various CPU crashes, as well as crashes that could happen when pressing Alt+Tab. However, they have not brought any CPU performance improvements. Or at least that’s what the changelog implies.
Patch 1.1 fixes player animation issues when mounting horses. It also has a fix for First Person camera being set above the player’s head. Moreover, it resolves an issue that could offset Map Markers when running on a secondary monitor. It also has a fix for infinite loading issues.
In theory, this update should be compatible with the mods we’ve shared. So, it should work with these mods that revert the Male/Female setting change. We also have a mod that can improve the graphics of the game. Plus, you can download a mod that enables every creature and NPC to catch on fire from open flames.
Last month, we shared a mod that brings a true first-person camera to the game. This mod will immediately remind you of Trespasser. It’s a cool mod, though I can’t classify it as a must-have. So, you can skip it if you are happy with the game’s default first-person camera viewpoint.
There are also mods that bring back the game’s original colors, make lights shine farther, and give female characters their own unique walking and running animations. So, it’s a good idea to check them out.
Let’s also not forget the first 4K Texture Pack for the game. This pack improved the textures of armors, weapons, clothing, and jewelry. To upscale the vanilla textures, its modder used AI tools. As such, the new textures retained the art style of the original ones.
We also have a mod that aims to improve the behavior of all animals. Plus, the creator of the amazing HD Reworked mods for The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 has released his first mods. So, make sure to check them out. Finally, you can download this mod, which overhauls its combat AI system.
Finally, there is a mod that adds over 500+ hand-placed light sources to the Imperial City. This is a cool mod that a lot of Oblivion fans will find cool. So, be sure to check it out.
Do note that this new update for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will only be available through the Steam Beta program. That means it’s not part of the normal game update yet, and you’ll have to manually join the beta if you want to try it early.
Here’s how you can join the beta version:
- Open your Steam Library and find The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered in the list of your games.
- Right-click on the game title and then click on “Properties” from the menu that appears.
- A new window will pop up. In that window, click on the “Betas” tab on the left side.
