Clair Obscur Expedition 33 feature-3

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Patch 1.3.0 Released & Fully Detailed

Sandfall Interactive has just released Title Update 1.3.0 for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this new update brings to the table.

Patch 1.3.0 brings some mouse and joystick sensitivity improvements. I’m not sure if this new patch addresses a bug that would prevent the game from registering your input when using the keyboard. This was one of the biggest issues that plagued the launch version. It was a bit frustrating in some fights, though I was able to finish the game with KB&M (even with that bug).

Update 1.3.0 comes with over 297 bug fixes. The devs have not listed all of them. Instead, they shared the most notable examples. So, for instance, Verso will now gain Perfection correctly when in reserve. The Simoso weapon will no longer cause lag due to memory leaks. Cut-scenes will now scale properly on ultrawide and non-standard resolutions.

The game should also be more stable now. The devs have fixed a crash that could occur after the dialogue sequences. Plus, the game should be more stable after extended play sessions. The patch also removes the placeholder textures near Chromatic Boucheclier and his battle arena. It also fixes some performance drops from repeated resting on certain levels.

It’s also worth noting that this patch brings some changes to the game’s Story Mode. Parry and dodge windows have been increased by 40%, and the incoming damage was reduced by 10% to 50%. Again, these changes are only for the Story Mode.

Patch 1.3.0 also adds a couple of Challenge Modifiers that you can use in Act III and onwards. At flag checkpoints, you can limit max player damage to 99,999 or 999,999, and you can multiply enemy HP by x2, x5, x10, x20, x50, or x100.

Sadly, I don’t see any improvements to the tech issues that the game had at launch. Cut-scenes are still locked at 30FPS. Thus, you’ll still have to use ClairObscurFix. There is also no mention of any visual improvements to DLAA. So, right now, I recommend using DLSS Quality and not DLAA. There is also still no official support for Frame Gen (though you can enable it with this mod).

Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below, you can also find its complete changelog. So, be sure to check it out.
