Square Enix has announced that Sleeping Dogs will be getting an interesting new DLC, with which Wei Shen will be able to become a silent assassin, augmented warrior or king of chaos. This new DLC, called Square Enix Character Pack, features characters/suits/armors from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Hitman: Absolution and Just Cause 2, and will be available to download worldwide tomorrow (November 14th) from Xbox LIVE (160MSP), PlayStation Network ($1.99 / €1.49 / £1.19) and Steam ($1.99 /€1.49 / £1.19). Activision’s anticipated FPS, Black Ops 2, is about to get released and PC gamers can properly prepare their machines – prior to the game’s launch – as Nvidia has released a new set of beta GeForce drivers for its GPUs. According to its release notes, the GeForce 310.54 offers huge performance boosts for Black Ops 2 and Assassin’s Creed 3. Microsoft makes DirectX 11.1 exclusive to Windows 8, no support for Windows 7/Vista

Okay everyone, you did see that coming, didn’t you? Well, it appears that DirectX 11.1 will be an API that is exclusive for Windows 8, just like DX10 was to Windows Vista and DX11 was to Windows 7 (well, that was until MS released a Vista version of it). This does not shock us at all, as Microsoft is simply trying to make everyone upgrade to its latest OS, by any means necessary. So say goodbye to it you die-hard Windows 7 users as MS is locking its DirectX API, an API that is essential for PC games. Square Enix has released a new CG video for Final Fantasy XIV that concludes the game’s storyline. This is the epic finale in which the Eorzean Alliance clashes with the Garlean Empire in a bid to deliver the realm from certain destruction. Weekly Top 10 PC Charts; UK PC Retail and Steam Digital Charts [November 4th – 10th]

The latest Top 10 PC charts have been revealed and as we can see, Football Manager 2013 is still the best selling title on Steam’s digital and UK’s retail PC charts. Farming Simulator 2013 has also managed to maintain its position, whereas Guild Wars has lost one place. Borderlands 2, Dishonored and Skyrim have been resurrected and can be spotted on the third, fifth and ninth place, respectively. Gabe Newell confirms that Source 2 Engine is under development

Great news everyone as Gabe Newell has confirmed that Valve is currently developing the next-generation version of its Source Engine. A couple of days ago, member of /v/ (aka 4chan) visited Gabe Newell to wish him happy birthday. 4chan’s members brought with them a huge birthday card and Newell had to pay $2.5 for the key to unlock it. After that hilarious event – and Newell wearing a combat helmet that was his birthday present – Valve’s co-founder talked a bit with the fans about the company’s plans.
