During this year’s SIGGRAPH 2013, Jonathan Dupuy, Eric Heitz, Jean-Claude Iehl, Poulin Pierre, Fabrice Neyret and Victor Ostromoukhov presented a new graphical technique that could be used in next-gen (or next-next-gen) games. This new technique called ‘Linear Efficient Antialiased Displacement and Reflectance‘ (LEADR) is a reflectance filtering technique for displacement mapped surfaces that preserves surface appearance at all scales, is compatible with tessellation and promises to be the fastest, seamless, and antialiased progressive representation for displaced surfaces. Rebellion today announced that a sequel to Steam best-seller Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army is already in development and will launch this year on PC. As the press release reads, Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2 follows franchise stalwart Karl Fairburne and his three allies as they battle back into the dark heart of Berlin to put an end to the occult powers that reside there once and for all. EA Sports has just announced that the demo for Fifa 14 will be released on September 10th. The demo is based on the current-gen version of Fifa 14, meaning that it will be coming on PC, X360 and PS3. EA Sports has announced its Fifa 14 demo plans back in August, so this is just a reminder for our soccer fans. The current-gen version of Fifa 14 will lack some features that a lot of gamers were looking forward to (such as better physics, collisions and graphics), though it’s been reported that it will support Fifa Ultimate Team. Codemasters has released a new trailer for its upcoming F1 racing game, F1 2013, featuring Fernando Alsono’s hotlap at Monza. F1 2013 will feature all the cars and stars from the 2013 season, as well as a new gameplay mode called F1 Classics that will give fans the chance to race classic cars on iconic circuits against legendary drivers for the first time in this series. Electronic Arts and DICE have released a new trailer for Battlefield 4, in which the teams compare a real life skyscraper collapsing with the in-game one that made everyone’s head turn in the recent live demonstrations of DICE’s upcoming shooter. Battlefield 4 promises to feature dynamic and destructible environments with epic vehicle battles and huge battlefields.
