This Resident Evil 2 Remake mod brings back the classic UI from the original 1998 game

Resident Evil 2 fans, here is something really cool for you today. Modder ‘Crazy Potato’ has released a pretty cool mod for Resident Evil 2 Remake that brings back the classic UI from the original 1998 version. This mod hits all the nostalgia notes and is a must-have for all Resident Evil 2 fans out there.

Going into slightly more details, this mod adds a retro Health Bar, classic Save Icons, the classic UI and the classic red “Resident Evil 2” logo. These are subtle changes that will be appreciated by the fans of the original game, so go ahead and download the mod from here.

Another mod that passed under our radar was the Classic Claire Fix mod, that was created by the same modder, and gave Claire her iconic look back. You can download this mod for Claire from here.

Again, these are subtle changes but I’m sure that Resident Evil 2 fans will find them cool. These are also the first proper mods for Resident Evil 2 Remake, alongside its amazing first-person mod.

Another interesting proof of concept project was one from Enveloping Sounds which showcased Resident Evil 2 Remake with fixed camera angles. There is no word yet on whether this project will turn into a proper mod, however we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Have fun everyone!
