The Witcher 3 HD Project version 4.4 is now available

It’s been a while since our last look on the HD Project for The Witcher 3, don’t you think? Modder ‘Halk Hogan PL’ has been working hard on it and has recently released a new version of it.

The Witcher 3 HD Projekt is a project that aims to improve the graphics by reworking models and textures to better quality.

This mod features high quality meshes with a lot of details, most of them are created from scratch, while at the same time maintaining good optimalization.

The Witcher 3 HD Project comes with very high quality detailed textures with great sharpness and performance, without any unnecessary VRAM losses (no unnecessary big textures for small stuff), as well as very high quality accurate normal maps.

The latest version of this mod focuses on the textures for brick walls, and features all the improved textures that were included in its previous versions.

Those interested can download the mod from here.

Enjoy!

  1. Looks pretty nice. I like that many of the textures retain the original look and are simply higher resolution, unlike packs for other games that just replace them with some random rock/wood/metal/etc. texture that ruins the original aesthetic.

  2. Why do you post vapid pointless articles like the CoD screenshot comparison, or straight up 2 weeks old news like the release of this mod? What’s the train of thought behind filling up the website with this, instead of actual news that matter or well written articles?

    1. So first you allegedly influenced the outcome of the US Presidential election and now, far more seriously, you’re seeking to influence the content of DSOG. Wherever will your megolomania end…

        1. You may wish to dabble further at the likes of IGN and Polygon because those places sure need a thorough dabbling.

  3. It’s amazing how the modder managed to keep to the original texture style so closely. This is as good as an official texture pack.

    1. What’s more, they even managed to show a pretty big improvement from a distance, where the low-resolution of the assets original assets is often masked.

  4. Hi. Is there a possibility to get this mod from another source? It was long time I was on nexus mods web and they blocked my account. When I requested a password reset e-mail, it never come. And now I even don’t have permission to do anything. Thanks for help.

      1. I have created other accounts, but they ask to wait for the confirmation email, but it
was never sent to me, even after creating several new accounts without success.

          1. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE TIPS MY FRIENDS, CREATED A NEW E-MAIL AND NOW GAVE RIGHT

        1. Bypass the IP block by using a proxy. If you don’t know what a proxy is, google it my friend 🙂

          1. I know what the proxy is. Actually, I am using VPN which provide me virtual IP address which is of course different than my base IP address from internet provider. But when I click on “Create a new account” action on nexusmode, it tells me, that I don’t have permissions to do that. Maybe they are capable to find out, that somebody is using VPN and they blocked such access. The problem is, that from another place without VPN, they allow me to re-activate my account by using e-mail sent from them. But that e-mail never come. So it does not matter if I would create new account, if I have to activate it by e-mail. I will have the same problem like I had with existing account re-activation.

    1. It happened the same with me friend, someone can help and post in some direct link like Mediafire for example, because I can not download anything else from the Nexus.

    1. Has CDPR gone back on their decision to not release the promised SDK for the game? No?
How do you expect people to do that sort of mod when there are no tools/support for it?

      1. well i’ed expect better from CDPR to sustain their SP experince with something
a new expansion or give the modders the promised tools

because in reality mods help sell the game, and they obviously recognize it
but yeah you can’t script events or quests and it’s rather basic

which is suprising considering the Witcher 2’s redkit had some great quests made
like A Welcoming Host, Kinship of wolfs and another one i forgot it’s name
the redkit was released a bit late but it was released

the witcher 3 got it’s modkit released quite early but it’s very basic…
        to quote kotaku
“The Witcher 3’s Modkit is a helpless kitten of a thing compared to The Witcher 2’s Redkit”

i hope someday we’ll see a “redkit” for the witcher 3, unless CDPR goes full bethesda and just abandons the game for the next installment

        1. They have publicly confirmed several times that the released tool would be the extent of the mod support, and all further development on the game ended with the release of Blood and Wine 1 year ago.

  5. looks spectacular, and yes it’s quite sad that an angel like CDPR has fallen to the console industry and it’s corruption
if CDPR dies, if the cycle of games continue by it’s microtransaction and DLC monitazation, then there is no hope and i’m better off abandoning AAA all together (not that indies have any shining beacons of hope with kickscammer being a scamsite for gullible hipsters)

i’m honestly kinda skeptical on cyberpunk, we haven’t seen any gameplay footage so far and not the slightest notion of what type of RPG it’s gonna be (shooter or slasher?)
there is not a single game in 2017 i can think of and be hyped for, it’s all the same remade, rehashed trash with endless sequels and microtransactions
though 2018 has a few good games there…
(very few though… might aswell buy some rope)

    1. Agreed. When this mod releases I think it will breathe a new life into TW3.

However I think lack of info about CP2077 is a blessing in disguise. The less we’re shown the less we will expect something from CDPR. So from that point of view it’s good they’re keeping this close to their vest. This is one way to avoid the downgrade debacle.
P.S. Slasher or shooter? First person or third person? I’m not even sure we’ll hear about it on upcoming E3.

      1. I think it’s safe to say they’ll at least in part be drawing a degree of inspiration from Human Head’s Prey 2, in regards to it being an FPS-RPG with Blade Runner & Ghost in the Shell-esque aesthetics.

I just can’t really see them doing a Mass Effect, personally, regardless of their history with The Witcher.

As for E3: If they intend to release it in early-to-mid 2018, it’ll show up at E3 &/or GamesCon. If not, if they instead plan for it to launch during Fall 2018 or some such, then they’ll probably save it for next year’s E3. Regardless, the size & scope of the reveal will be interesting, though.

        1. I doubt it’ll happen in 2018.
The game was not being developed before the release of TW3, it was in pre-production, half of CDPR was still working on TW3 until the release of the last expansion.

          1. Good point. So, assuming Blood & Wine’s release marked the end of full-scale &/or near-full scale development focus on The Witcher franchise, that would leave us with an April 2016-Late 2018 full-scale development window. With that in mind, I could maybe see it for late 2018, but more likely for early-to-mid 2019, yeah.

Then again, I think it’s also in their interest to get it out sooner, rather than later, at this point. The trailer originally went up in 2013, 2018 marks 5 years & 2019 would mark 6, which is a long time for an already announced franchise to be idling around for.

  6. The game already looks fantastic. I don’t get why people think they need shoddy texture mods that ruin the art style. Go back to modding half-finished Bethesda games. This one is better left alone.
